Subject: RE: Tips/ tricks for getting out there earlySince I am on for IM St george May 1, getting my backside outta bed is neccesary. Not that I 'like' it.
What works for me is giving myself 45 minutes to eat something and read a little, to allow myself to wake up. I set the time I need to be starting and with 10 minutes to go, while I get dressed (in my bathroom where I have a space heater blasting to prevent me from complaining of being cold ) I put my ipod on and get some music in my head.
If I think to much, I will be at risk of trying to convince myself that staying in bed is such a nicer option than running in the cold. So everything is broken down into minutes.
I also subscribe to making myself do 20 minutes of run or bike, and if I just can't deal, I can stop and go home, since once I'm out its all good.
I also let myself b$%ch and moan to my hearts content, sometimes for the duration of the session.
I'm not above bribing myself with coca-cola either. As in "Get out of bed, do your run and you can have a coke." |
