Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() How does that lane change work. In the notes on the web site it says you have to swim under the lane rope to the next lane, but I was wondering if people touch the wall in one lane and use that same wall to push off of and cross under the lane rope under water? just wondering about the different techniques |

The fastest swimmers can pull it off using their flip-turn, but that's beyond my abilities. |

My flip turn isnt that great either, so I will probably be doing the same thing |

So when I get to the wall, in the lane I am already in, I push off the wall there and go under the lane rope that way. Just seems more efficient. But I am still pretty pathetic at the walls. Ha! |

After reading some of the posts here and some of the reviews of last years race, I am a little concerned about the swim portion of the race. I am a fairly decent swimmer and can handle the 275 without issue, and I understand they line people up by the swim times they submitted (which I submitted about 30 seconds slower than I can actually do the 275). Good luck on your first tri! Yeah, if you are behind slower swimmers it turns into a cluster-f. Yeah. I will be in the same spot. I put some ridiculously slow time for me. Sometimes you can pass at the wall, but I have found that MOST people, even if you play with their feet all the way down the lane, they will NOT let you pass at the walls. A-holes. ![]() |

Its a short swim, so i can probably make up time on the bike and run that I may lose due to slower people in the pool. who knows I may have given a bad time and be one of thosehaving to let others pass me!LOL |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Sounds like swimmmers will only be going in one direction per lane, instead of up-and-back in each lane. This should make it easier to pass...don't have to worry about going three wide and having a head-on collision! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am #181 in the line. I completely screwed up my swim time! Not sure WHAT I thinking when I put in a slower than usual time. Duh. Oh well, I keep telling myself it is just a workout day... and to take it easy... NO POOL RAGE allowed. I will dog paddle and chill. *Shrug* |

New user ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ridiculous that it's 5:30pm and they still don't have the results posted... Wish they'd get it together.. So disappointing. Don't get how they can print out the results by 10am at the race and then take all day.. Maybe two days to put them online. Get a new timing company DA!! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Anyone get a mileage on their bike computer? Forgot to look at mine after race, but seemed long. Maybe wishful thinking on my part but thought I'd ask since the top time in my AG (35-39) averaged only 20.3mph, which seemed low for an 11 mile course. Maybe the distance was right but the wind and rolling hills were more of a factor? |

On the run, my Garmin showed 3.06 so it was just a touch short of the 5k the official distance showed. |

When it took me over 40 minutes, I was hoping that wasn't right. |

I think the PDFs were from last year though, and the bike course seemed slightly different than I recall(I could be wrong). |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() No the bike course was exactly the same and yea I got 13.2 for my distance on the bike. It was a little slower pace though due to the strong head wind going up hill. Overall i thought it was a pretty good race except for the drafting nazi on the motorcycle. |
