They learn their lesson and I'll guarantee they won't do it again.

I will be there along with a group from Tri4him. I must say the 25 meter pool will feel like an open water swim though.

Well NOT this time! I padded my time and I am fully prepared to take it easy. Honestly, this race is going to suck for me. I'm just doing it for fun and to get my butt motivated to swim and ride.

The only area of this race I'll do good on is the run.

Anyone who did this race last year will improve on their time. (Remember the horrid timing issues last year?)

Wouldn't do this one again unless DSU paid me to do it. The usual DSU crappy show.

Have to disagree here, other than the timing chip issue you mentioned(which is a valid complaint) I liked last year's event.

Well we are a bunch of Type-A, anal retentive triathletes... timing issues is a HUGE thing to us. Ha!

On a positive note, maybe my time won't suck so bad if they screw it up again?

I will be there. This will be my third Tri and first one of the season. I put down 5:00 for the swim time and have really been working hard on my time. Got it down to 4:13 now. Should I tri to change the time or just swim as is? What are my options?

It might be too late to change it, but I'd definitely contact them to try.

The Caveman tri this weekend will be my first triathlon. After reading some of the posts here and some of the reviews of last years race, I am a little concerned about the swim portion of the race. I am a fairly decent swimmer and can handle the 275 without issue, and I understand they line people up by the swim times they submitted (which I submitted about 30 seconds slower than I can actually do the 275).

Can someone tell me how they send off the swimmers? last years race had over 400 people and to send them off 1 by 1 must take some time? how long do the give the person in front before sending the next? Is this the reason I have heard of people having issues with slower swimmers in front of them?

Thanks

They send 1 person off every 5-10 seconds(it varies by race). Your race number will be your place in the line. So yea, if you're significantly faster than the people ahead of you, you're going to have to try to pass them in the lane. My suggestion is to try to catch them at the wall where they're more likely to stop & let you by, especially if people are going up & down the same lane.
