I got my plane tickets into and out of vegas!

My massage therapist is a really good friend, and we made a deal of her coming along in exchange for free massage from now until then.  Nice!

I am going to start looking at hotels on that website.  It is set up really well.

It seems like you will have to have a car to get around this one, which is fine, just different.

I was just wondering has anyone swam with Blue Seventy Swim Socks? Do they fill with water or any other issues ?

I have not used swim socks so take this with a grain of salt.

Folks who have used them have likened them to swimming with bags of water on your feet. I know plenty of folks panicked a little at the water temp this past May and grabbed socks at the last minute. I've seen plenty of posts about folks saying they took them off mid-swim. If you think you may want them be sure to try them well ahead of time.

Your best bet for warmth aside from the obvious wetsuit is a neoprene hood/cap under the race cap.

I did St. George this year and the my best swim ever.  Wore the Promotion cap and socks and I was perfect.  We also picked up some wax earplugs the day beforethe race at a walgreens and I think that helped a ton to keep the cold walter out of the ears.

Can't wait to see it Libby!  I was thinking about you as I was doing some climbs up in N. Georgia (wishing they were climbs in Utah!)

just got back from st. george and vegas and I LOVED it!!! The course is tough but the climbs aren't as bad as what I was imagining. its the overall cumulative effect of lots of long slow grinds that get ya. and the run is tough!! up or down really. it was so beautiful and so much fun. I can't wait for this race.  Being from florida, I'm going to have to spend lots of time on the trainer doing long slow climbing because bridges will do nothing to simulate this course!!
I wrote about it on my blog here (sorry copy and paste, I don't know how to make it a link!) : http://libbybergman.blogspot.com/2010/10/st-george.html

Great write up libby!

I forwarded it to my coach, and he really enjoyed it too!

Did you go to the pie shop?

After reading your report, I looked up the pie shop menu, and then spent the rest of the day craving pie.  I ended up having some key lime pie at the beach at the half I did with a friend!!!

I have been working with Will Dillard for the past two years, and he is great.  He seems to know just how much to push me and when to make me hold back.  That is the hardest part for me.  He has three of us doing St. George, which is good for all of us involved!

I think the run is going to be the hardest part of that race!

Set a new PR in the marathon today . I'm sure it is much faster than I'll be in Utah lol. But I'm still stoked about it.

T-minus 6 monthes....Where is everyone at?

I'm once again starting to sort my life out/prepping my world for another IM build. Doing an early season IM is always interesting since most folks are just heading into off season while I am just starting to leave off season behind!

Hope everyone is exactly where they want to be and are excited as I am to be starting an IM build!

I completed Ironman Florida 7 days ago ... 7 more days rest then time to star training for St George.
Florida was cold hi 30's during the nights and mornings warmed to low 60's during the day. Ahhhh but the water was 74 that was nice!

now that I got through clearwater yesterday I can think about SG!  Taking some serious downtime before I start up though. I'm arguing for january 1, coach wants mid december.  after about 24 hours off, I already kinda feel like training again lol...  taking time off seriously after a long year behind me and a big year ahead of me with 2 IM's.

Hello St. George Registrants,

I am interested in the IM in St. George in 2011 possibly. Wondering what the water temperature was this year for the event. Also, is this a good race for a 1st Ironman? I saw the average time of Ironmans and it looks like this race is much tougher than others. Is this a road bike course? I have both a tri bike and road bike. I am just nervous as ever about signing up for this event.

Help, please.

Bill
