Really depends on how many of us are going to make it. I am in, for sure. I registered for the half last week, although actually running will depend on recovery post MCM. I am happy to sherpa, serve frosty drinks, lounge by the pool whatever. As far as amenities, I agree that more than 1 bathroom is a must (unless it's just me). And we definitely need a pool and a grill. Other than that, I think we can make anything work. It doesn't matter to me where we stay, but some of the places do rent by the night. When I looked before some said to call the owner for rates. If it's the off season I'm sure we can get it for just a few nights. I plan on arriving on Friday sometime. Depending on ticket prices I'll fly back on Monday or Tuesday, but I can always get a hotel room for Monday night near the airport. Agree that F/S/S would be a good plan. And, we don't have to get too fancy. If I come in earlier or stay later, will also grab a hotel room. |

It's not done yet, but I will holler when it is. I feel like my house is a complete disaster zone. I am 2 days into doing laundry, and I am getting caught back up to where I was when we left--ugh. this whole trip was a little last minute. Anybody know where Vinnie and Luigi went? I need some muscle to come scrub my floors and blinds. |

This is what I came up with on my ride RE: Carlsbad 1) Its just a weekend...so even if I have an exam that Friday I can just leave after and return on Monday 2) Its just a weekend...people go on ski trips in Jan/Feb/Mar in AB for the weekend...I do not ski...therefore, this could be like a "ski" trip, in fact there are 2 med ski trips that weekend and the weekend after...so I am going "skiing"... 3) Carlsbad would be funner than provincials...as I will suck at provincials with the best swimmer's in AB there and probably not end up even getting into finals. 4) Carlsbad would probably be cheaper than going to provincials with a bunch of 15 yr olds... 5) I think I had something else...but I can't remember now... ... I went a new way and I knew there was a hill, but it was bigger than anticipated. Coming down the backside really bothered my knee. Somehow this morning between running and yoga I pulled a pectoral muscle. I had to switch the mouse on my computer over to the left side because it hurts to extend my arm on the right. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. |

I just hope the pec feels better SOON. Maybe if I could get someone to rub it... |
