Subject: RE: Do any of you 'give up' stuff while training for a race?Like someone else said, I don't have much to give up. I started eating healthy in January 2005, 5 years before I started training for tri's. That's when I gave all the "junk" - fast food, pizza, burgers, all sugar/sweets, fried foods, white starches - done, gone and haven't had them since except the VERY occasional taste of something (once or twice a year maybe or less - all that stuff tastes horrible to me now and makes me very sick so I don't want or miss it ) For me living/eating healthy is a full time thing, I started 5 years ago and will do it forever, its a lifestyle not just a temporary thing in prep for an event. So I'd eat the same types of food, training or not. My only "vices" left are caffeine (one diet soda per day ) and wine (usually one glass about 4 nights a week ). I wouldn't give up either for training but I do limit both quite a bit more in the week before a race. |
