Never voted for him, but I think he was a very good POTUS. He gets a gold star for balancing the budget. He gets three demerits for Somalia, Serbia, North Korea. We'll know more in 20 years when the truth comes out. |

There's a segment of America who would curse Bill Clinton if he healed their dying mother of cancer. Sad thing is I seen a lot of these types in Central America in the 70"s. Confused partisans who mistake their partisanship for patriotism. They would be well served to remember that their country deserves their loyalty always, and the government get theirs only when they deserve it.WMD's now there's a friggin lie, A BIG LIE!!!! Oh yeah I know...but I like to poke rabid animals with sticks. Just can't help it. |

![]() | ![]() It's true that Clinton is a liar tends to lie. If I remember, he was impeached for it. But I'd give him the benefit of the doubt on this story. It's definitely possible that he was politically precocious at the age of nine. It's also possible that he acted on his insight. If nothing else, it's a great image. If you're in a position of privilege, one way to fight social ills may be to get on the back of the bus. I'll tell you what drives me nuts, though. Lots of folks round these parts have a bumper sticker that says: "No one died when Clinton lied". First, there is no proof that the POTUS lied before going to war. Given all of the folks on the left side of the aisle who agreed with him, including Clinton, I tend to think that the POTUS did not lie. So there's a little bit of selective memory on the part of the bumper sticker folks. Plus, it devalues the seriousness of the sin of lying. Makes it seem that lying is ok as long as the result fits your measure of what's acceptable. Slippery slope, that one. (there, I said "sin"... so religion is now on the table... ![]() Edited by dontracy 2005-11-04 12:00 PM |
