We don't get Blizzards in Texas.  But you're going to get COLD FEET when you see what we can do.  That is of course if you can still see us, as far ahead as we're going to be.

hey pds.... Thanks for the info in the introduce yourself forum. Am I too late to join? Sign me up for 10000 yards. It's going to be nice having some motivation.

edit: So I guess I just have to log my workouts into the training logs? Do I need to post it here or send it to pds also? 1st challenge and as my name says I am usually That Guy so I need some help.

Welcome That_Guy!  Glad you made cause it's go time as of today folks!  Now I'm already tired of hearing smack talk from all these PRETENDERS TO THE THRONE!  We got crabs, we got pirates, we got cold fronts coming in, all thinking they've got the juice to keep up with US!  I can't stand it and I won't tolerate it, they need to understand were they sit in the BT swimming hierarchy.  That's sucking OUR WAKE.  Go forth, destroy, bring them to their knees.

Okay, rant over.  I would like it if everyone would post their weekly totals here, that way I can get them to Renee quickly on Sundays.  Use your logs, but give me some totals too!  I won't be able to swim for at least a week (doctor's orders) but I'll keep track of everthing so ya'll can bring home the prize!

Also, here's the roster I've got so let me know if you're not on it:

Got in 2000 yards for the team today.  My plan only called for 400...but it felt good in the pool today so I thought I'd put some extra yards under the belt for the team.

Go Yee Haws!!

hmmm. whats this challenge all about. I coach a swim team and think if i actually get in instead of just coaching i can probably throw down a good chunk of yardage. If i count all the kids i coach would that be cheating. 40 kids at 4000 yards each. thats 160000 a day. Wow never thougt about it that way.

Feel free to join up, everyone is welcome!  Wish you could count your kids for all of our distances, but it's unnecessary for us to cheat with the team we have.  Go YEEHAWS!

OK, someone smack me on the back of the head. I haven't swam in about 10 years and when I started back up about 4 weeks ago I was struggling. And my splits were just not getting even close to what I remember doing as a teenager. I attributed this to the 40 extra pounds and the 10 year layoff. Well today I walked down to the other end of the pool (usually I step out of the locker room and jump in right there) and noticed that the walk was pretty far. Yea thats right its a 25 meter pool not a 25 yard pool. Anyways, I pledged 10000 yards and did 1500 meters today so can I just change my yard pledge to 10000 meters.

You need to pledge a distance goal. How many yards will you swim during the month of December?

Hey Yee Haws...We need to think positively here - and find a humiliation avatar that those humbled by our win will have to use.  Anybody got a good one/?

Your mascot is an evil harpie dog?  You enjoy that one.

If we win we should have an avatar for the losers that says something like "YeeHaws" or something in that vein.

There's no team to beat.  YeeHaws are taking this one all the way.

PLUS, as of 10 minutes ago I am cleared to once again work out.  So that means it's on... ON LIKE KING KONG! Hail to the king baby, hail to the king.  Go YEEHAWS!

I wonder what we would have to change our avatars to if the Yee-Haws won.........guess we will have to wait until the cow-tipping challenge.

Ok I've been slacking. I have 2952.76 Yd out of the 10000 I pledged but plan on knocking out another 1000 tomorrow. I've been out in the field last few days and am going back to the field on monday for a few more days. How is everyone else doing? Hopefully better then me but there just aren't any pools in the middle of the training area at Fort Hood. And even if there was I don't know how my boss would feel about me handing him my weapon and ta-50 and telling him "Don't worry, I just have this whole Texas Yee-Haws December Swim Challange thing. I'll be back in an hour."

Okay, good first week folks!  So far we have swam (swum?) 55500 of 155600 meter/yards.  Of that, Aaron is our big stud with 30200 meters completed!  Wow, keep it up man!  3 team members have over 1/3 of their yardage done and two others are just shy of 1/3.  We've got 3 weeks left, I say we kick it this challenge in the a$$ and spend the last week of the year swimming over yardage.  Or incorporating Xmas tri-gear into our collections.  Go Yee Haws!
