Welcome Jenn, once you get hooked on the logs and blogging you'll be an addict like the rest of us.  Oh yeah, the training is fun too.  Sometimes I think I train just to have something to write about.

Please review your goals and measurement to insure I have it correct.  This roster is going to Marmadaddy today.

We’ve got challenging goals, so everyone, hit the pool and remember --- In order to win this thing, EVERY teammate will need to make their yardage commitment.   The final team score is a percentage of yards completed and percentage of teammates at or above goal.    What that means is another teammate CANNOT swim extra yards to make up for yards that another teammate DIDN’T do!   That doesn’t mean that you can’t swim more than your commitment, but anything in excess of 100% doesn’t count toward the TEAM score!

 Happy Swimming!

If it's not too late, I would like to up my goal to 20000. The heater at the pool was fixed today.

Wow!  We've got a big team with big goals!  I think the key is to keep at it every week and not get in a jam and have to try and cram in last minute workouts at the end of the month.

We are almost at the end of the first week, how's everyone doing?  Has everyone hit the pool at least once this week?

GO TRI-STARS!

To be on track, Team -- we need to be at 25.8% of our individual goals completed by Sunday, January 8.

BeCivil-- Increase in goal duly noted!   You're in for 20K!    Happy Swimming!

Got in another swim today - just for kicks!  Hopefully, if I get ahead now - when things happen later in the month - and I know they will - I'll have a little cushion to fall back on.

Happy Monday TriStars.

Thanks to those kind souls who sent "inspire mes" I needed that this morning after a rough weekend. You are too too kind.

I know from the numbers I have posted that it looks like I am below my goal...but no worries I will definitely make my goal. My yardage is all planned out for the month. And don't forget the 30th and 31st fall on a Monday/Tuesday...so we have 2 extra days this month to meet the yardage goals.

Its off to the pool again for me tonight.
Good luck and happy swimming to all!

GOOD MORNING TRISTARS!

We had a good week, with almost everyone "on Track".  I'm anxious to see how we place for the week!   My guess, near or at the top of the pack.

I've sent each a PM/E-mail with where we are in my weekly update --   Enjoy!

GO TRISTARS!!!

Go Tri-stars

I want to win this one - and lose the loser avatar - it just makes me ill everytime I see that wicked flying pig.

And to think I was worried!  I was concerned that we have twice as many members as everyone else so we would have a greater chance of losing but you all are proving me wrong!  Everyone is off to a fabulous start!  Keep it up Tri-Stars!

Hey, I have a question...what kind of swimming workouts do you all do?  I was wondering if most people work only on endurance/distance or if you mix in some sprint workouts also.  Just curious...

GO TRI-STARS!!!

I am new to swimming so I'm probably not the best person to respond. But as of this week I'm using my Christmas gift, swim workouts for triathletes. It changes between endurance, speed, tests, etc. I'm hoping this will help me to improve my endurance and confidence in the swim.

Finally got on the board for the team! Swam 2.6k tonight.

"My" pool has been closed (painting); it was supposed to open on the 9th but will most likely open on the 16th.

Not too many places to swim down here, unfortunately. No wonder Venezuela has just ONE olympic medal in swimming...ever!

Team, I will find a way to meet my goal even if it means two swim workouts a day once the pool opens. I do not like to lose.

GO TRI-STARS!

Hi all! I'm a late joiner since I've been an orphan all this time! I did the challenge in Dec and you can tell from my avatar that we didn't do so well.. BUT I did get my distance in! I did 8000m last month and I'm pledging 10,000 for the month of Janaury. I've gotten a slow start but I'm back in the saddle and will definitely meet my goal!

You all have been doing so well, keep up the good work!

OK TRISTARS!   ---  We've got work to do!   We may be on the top of the pack, but we're also everyone else's target!

Just a reminder that we ALL need to be at  roughly 49% of our committed goals by Sunday 1/15.  We won't stay on top of the pack unless we ALL make it!  The ONLY way we will win this thing is if  EVERYONE hits 100% of their COMMITTED yardage!    Our Mantra needs to be 100/100/100!!!  This is a TEAM event -- we won't succeed without each other!

KEEP up the great work -- virtually every member of our team is within striking distance of this weeks yardage target -- If you're not --- FIND A POOL!

GO TRISTARS --- SWIMMING FOR THE STARS!

Did my part this morning, Captain!  Got a 2500 swim in before the sun even came up.

Keep up the great work everyone!

And don't worry about those Blizzards!  It has been unseasonably warm in the Midwest lately and they are off to a sluggish start - they may be melting!  ; )

Keep up the great work Tri Stars.

I did a few more laps last night just to make sure I meet my goal. I have another swim scheduled for tomorrow and should have no problem hitting 50% of goal tomorrow.

Happy swimming everyone.
Go Tri Stars! Lets show them we're the leaders not the followers.
