Denise2003 - 2006-01-27 9:56 AM I look wimpy.

Nope, I'm wimpy!    I wasn't even going to sign up for the Challenge after seeing everyone else's goal miles!

I did 19 miles in December and 25 in January.  I was going to go for 30 in February but what the heck - sign me up for 34 miles!  I'll keep you company Denise!

Hi StarGazer

Thanks for inviting me to the team. Sadly, I am going to have to drop out of the run challenge. I won't have access to the website for most of February and would not be able to log my runs, etc.

But good luck Midwest team. Happy Running!!!

Hey! Glad you're on the team! What I like most about running and triathlons is that we can compete with ourselves....We don't have to compare to anyone else---just try to do the best we can. I put down 100 miles, and to be honest, I've never had a 100 mile month before! (I think the most I've had is 80) So I'm excited to push myself to do that! I like this team concept so that when it's cold and snowy out, I'll more of an incentive to go out so that I don't disappoint my team members!

Look at your progress already---19 in December, 25 in January, now 34 in February. That's AWESOME!

Keep up the good work and I'm glad we're in this together!

Ha! For a team name, we could be the Midwest Mispellers---I just looked at the title of this thread and "Team" is misspelled. Or instead of the "A Team" we can be the "E Team" since we have that extra e, and all. Our cheer: (Or should I write "cheeer") could be "We put the 'E' in Endurance..."

(OK, can you tell that I'm tired!)

Well said, Michelle...I think we all do this because we've set goals for ourselves and need the encouragement (especially us folks up here in what should typically be sub zero weather).  So the mileage doesn't matter, completing the goal does!

Let's go Midwest TeaEm!!!   3 days 'til February!

no way. Just different goals. If I weren't shooting for a 3:30 marathon in June, then I wouldn't be running near that many miles. Heck, I wish I we're running that many. It's going to cut into my riding mileage

not trying for boston this year and I think my age group is like a 3:15 anyway. In reality I will be happy with anything sub 4:00, but looking at my current level, the time I have until the race and the amount of training I'm putting in, I think I can hit a 3:30. Especially since the entire last half is DOWN HILL!!!

I do want to do the boston someday though

So I used to think that my spelling/typing was pretty good but a few months an BT has obviously had a really bad influence on me. BTW I did notice the mistake the first day but figured on getting the thread name chaged once a team name was decided upon.

Even after a good nights sleep, I'm actually starting to kind of like "The E Team"---it can stand for Excellence, Endurance, Energy, Excitement, Entertaining...

Hmmmmmm

Stargazer,

I'd suggest starting a new thread with whatever name you decide best represents our group.

OK. It's late again. I'm going for, The E Team.
And instead of "Mr T", we have "Mr G" as in Star Gazer.
And, remember how George Peppard used to say, "I love it when a plan comes together, " we can say, "I love it when a TRAINING plan comes together".

And THEN we can go kick the rear ends of the other losing teams!

Woo hoo! yea Team!

We seriously need to do a background check on this UTTriman guy! (Hey, Brett, good to see you escaping from the darkside!) Kidding... Michelle seems pretty passionate about the 'E-team.' Thumbs up for me...

Got my first run in this morning. 4.5 miles and about 57 minutes (it'll get faster I hope).

I figure my 500 minutes ought to put me in the 45-60 mile range.
