1. Rime ice

2. Hoar frost

technically speaking, those are not snow. Rime ice can lead to snow pellets which is the same thing as grauple, but rime alone isn't snow.

graupel is also not technically snow, rather it is rimed snow, but I guess it's close enough to be counted.

Hoar frost is formed by deposition, or water vapor skipping the the liquid stage and forming crystals diretly on a cold surface.  Hence not snow.

so i updated the list for yallzzezz

12.  backbreaking, heart attack inducing mid-March slop melting snow snow

14. a special type of snow that no one in southern california knows what it is but they just cry out "SNOW" snow

15. crud snow

16. crust snow

17. corn snow

18. google snow snow

just slap snow on it and no one can argue

dontracy - That's why I think you should be required to name 26 kinds of snow and ice to be eligible for the winter olympics.

Maybe the title was misleading.

But your post proves my point: people who are snow savvy take this stuff seriously and should be the only ones allowed to compete. Maybe there could be another division for athletes who do not own a snow shovel.
