Hey guys kickoff registration today $15-$45 off normal early rates (how much depends on if you do Kemah or the TX3 Series). The catch is you have to come into the Spring valley location of Houston Cycling Centres off Gaylord from 10am-1pm. If you can't make it early registration rates will be active online at 1pm. See you soon!

A friend and I are coming down from Lubbock for the race. Really looking forward to it.

I noticed on the website that teachers get a $10 discount, and ID's will be checked. Would my membership card to the Texas High School Coaches Association serve as proper ID? I don't really have anything else saying that I am a teacher?

Thanks!

I did this race last year and was blown away.  Lieto, Naeth, and more all racing in it, boat start, Alcatraz qualifier...  Thanks for putting this on!

HITS Marble Falls race is looking iffy based on the feedback from their first race in Palm Springs.  Kemah looks more interesting to me now!

I really hope that HITS gets there act together.  That said I Kemah is a much more established race and seems much better run than the first event.  Plus it seems a bit cheaper.

Now, if you really want to HTFU you could do Marble on Saturday, and Kemah on Sunday.

I will not be doing that.

That would be a possible option (I'm laughing as i'm typing this) if I wanted to do the HITS Oly, but I was looking at the 70.3 option which is on Sunday.  If HITS can figure out the basics before April (like marking the course), I'll probably still do that.  Although the boat thing at Kemah sounds pretty cool...

Well, in defense of HITS if you read the ST thread on the second day it seemed to be much better put together.  So even if the Sprint/Oly go badly they seemed to figure it out for the half/full.

The winner of the full posted that he asked for coke from a aid station, and they stocked several of the stations with it, and got him some in 1/2 a mile.  That was pretty good customer service.

Like I said, I'd love to have them make it, and would consider doing Corpus if I wasn't tenatively doing the Austin half mary that weekend.

Yeah the posts by monty and others on ST did seem to indicate day 2 was slightly better than day 1. I'll be watching their other races pretty closely (hopefully more RR's to go by) to see if they improve before Marble Falls.  I am really hoping they do and are able to be successful.

Sorry to hear about the issues with the first HITS weekend. The Las Vegas Marathon had trouble too. Seems like there were quite a few races with issues in the past 1-2 weeks. Hey, RD's are human too.

What I can say is that it's the 3rd year of Kemah and we try to run it like it's been around 10 years. We've put on over 15 races in 3 years and had very few issues with any of them. We would love to have you out-of-towners come on down as we are trying to expand our reach and allow other cities come down and get to know the Houston crowd. I certainly understand proximity to where one lives though. Although the extra time traveling could be justified by the Schwag and the money you save on doing a race with lower entry fees. Just saying.' We'll take care of you.

Just a reminder that there's a $10 price increase on the 15th (this Thursday). Register before then to save. There's a price increase for the TX3 Series too if you were thinking of registering for that. www.KemahTri.com  or  www.TX3Series.com.

Thanks Aaron. Ken and I already signed up for Bridgeland and I will be in Iowa in September so I don't think Houston is in the cards this year.
