Aysel - 2012-02-22 2:10 PM It's our "traditional season opener" Deer Creek June 6th. Check out HFPracing.com for details. Hello and welcome to BT-OH!

I see how it is, get the new guy to show up 3 days late, hehe Tongue out

Thank you for the link, the timing is great for me, I think.

I'll be *attempting* the Cleveland Half Mara two weeks before that, so I think that should be plenty of time to rest and then hit my first Olympic race Cool

I'm not too worried about drive distance... I'm currently deciding between Parris Island, SC and New Roads, LA for my first Sprint in March, hehe.  Nothing like a little road trip to get something going!

Adam, thank you!  I think I may take you up on that, though the idea of going down the night before and sleeping a full night sounds pretty good, too, hehe

I've got neither the panache nor the swagger to pull something like this off. Think I'll just stick to the racing part of the day.

(I'm still learning to stinking swim!)

Its too hot for leather pants!

On a serious note, this is my first Tri at Deer Creek.  Does anyone get a room at the lodge or near by?  Since I am driving up from cincy, I was thinking I would make my life easier and get a room somewhere nearby.

Perry - I go down from Columbus.  I just drive morning of.

If you make a mini vacation of it a lodge would be fun but that brings cost up alot.

If cost is a factor, just plan to sleep a little less.  Get a good night sleep Friday.  Get everything ready to go Saturday.  Get to bed on time (not necessarily early) and get up at 4.

What Brue said! There are a couple of us who drive up from South Dayton the morning of so we can feel your pain with the drive but if cost is a factor it's still worth racing if you drive up the morning of.

Last year I stayed the night before in the lodge and it was like 99 bucks for the night.  There was a coupon that the state parks offer and it came with a large pizza or something strange like that.  I will see if I can find the code and share it.  I went with a fellow triathlete and we both got a room, in retrospect we could have split the room and it would have only been 50 (and half a pizza).  Looking forward to Deer Creek...

Where is this tri in relation to Reynoldsburg (Columbus area)? I was thinking Greenswell's Family Triathlon on June 3 but haven't signed up yet.

Mt. Sterling, OH.  It's down 71, maybe 30 minutes to the freeway exit south of 270.  (Did that statement even make sense?)
