Great Job Everyone...Congrats

I Place 1st in the XL 3 OLY!!! 2:56:47 haha well it was only out of 2....lol. well I guess a win is a win. It was my first tri too. My swim was terrible! I need to work on it as well.

Aysel- Thanks for the encouragement on the hill and the Parade Sign.

Sorry I didnt get to meet almost any of you I was really nervous with it being my first time and all. I will look around for the BT logos more next tri. Good luck the rest of this tri season!!!!

Congrats on the 1st! There may have only been two of ya, but you weren't 2nd ;-) 1st is 1st! Great job for your first tri, Triathlete!

If I hadn't seen Aysel in her BT top, I don't think I would have met anyone, either. I'm thinking of getting a BT tri-top for my next event.

Great job everyone!!!

They placed me in Duathlon list and I got 1st place in my AG there )))))

However, in real world I will be only 8th. Why did I call HFP and tell them to fix it?!?!?

I had a great time, improved my time from last year, and over all it was not hard. But probably I have to push myself harder. I blew out the swim, did not paddle hard enough, the bike was almost the same, but my run is 3 min better this time. I consumed more gels this year too, forced them down my throat, did not need to drink as much though.

Aysel was trying to hit me with her sign as I started running ) because I looked so slow. But it was my plan: first lap - save the legs, second lap - kill the legs. btw, it is great to see familiar faces there.

Aslo, I was happy to find myself at the same bike rack with sungirl who is fast as a sunbeam.

The weather was great,  I loved the race.

I hesitated to even put up a race report - but it is done.

I've started reading and commenting on others.

On the bright side I didn't come home with Deer Tick.

I am still not very good at meeting people I guess, but I did see the sign and the support on the bike leg.  I can finally say I am happy with my performance (it took a few days to accept that my first olympic was 17/23 AG) as I have learned a lot.  I did say hello to Robin as I passed her on the bike and as she passed me on the run!  I hope to meet some more of you soon.  I won't be back to HFP races until Caesar's Creek due to vacation with the family over the next two races.  Time to train!

oh, that was you!!!  I met so many new people that I was trying to remember all the new faces and names.  I saw you both times, but didn't realize that was you.  Sorry! Embarassed (I think I remember your race suit, though.  You were in DeSoto, right?)

oh crap...just spent an hour completing a race report, thought it saved, but it did not.  Now there is an empty race report for Irishgirl67 out there.  Sorry.  How frustrating. Hope to give it another try tomorrow.

Well... if I was in the weight class I belong in, I would have been 2nd out of 3 in XL3, instead of 6 out of 7 in XL2.  Oh well.  Was good to see some of you out there, especially Trig when he flew passed me on the bike spinning his legs at what appeared to be a cadence of around 500 rpms.

RE:  OW SWIM PRACTICE.

I am on here and also a member of COTT for swims at Alum Creek.  I went Monday (6-4) and there were a TON of people 25+.   They swim at 6:15pm on Mondays.   Check out their facebook page if you prefer group stuff.

I don't mind heading up on the weekends and swimming by myself.  I wear my brightest swim cap and usually let someone know I'm going and when I should be done.  There's tons of people there if the weather is nice.   Or just post on here - several of us can be found at Alum on weekend mornings.  Biggest problems now is trying to keep up with all the events going on up there on the weekends.

I was going to ask if it's safe to swim alone up there. I may head up Friday afternoon. I will let someone know (I do the same when I mountain bike ride alone - had a pretty nasty crash once and luckily had my cell phone on me so I was able to call for help).

H2OLupa and I are headed to Alum creek for a swim on Monday/Wed at around 8am.  I normally haul myself out of bed and into the water at 9am on Saturdays.  Feel free anytime to send me a PM.

LOL

It did not help a lot though, my goal was less than 2:30, but I could not do it.

Moreover, I could not find myself in results. for some strange reason I was placed with Duathletes and got 1st place there )) Why did I contact race organizers, I could get a medal

I would be  8th in my AG. I blew out the swim, but improved my run for about 3 min.

It was fun, Aysel was trying to hit me with her sign, and sungirl who is fast as a sunbeam was at the same rack with me.

That was one of the best parts of the day!

"Excuse me, is this row V?"  (someone had their things all over the row letter and I couldn't see it)

Oh, trig, it's you!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was so good to see you.

it was great to see you too
