Subject: RE: Wife approval for IMAZ 2013!!! KeriKadi - 2012-09-08 8:02 AM I am going for IMAZ as well. This year my husband is doing IMFL with my blessing (5 kids) and he says next year is all about me. This is the same way we worked things out. We don't have kids, but IM training still takes a lot of time away from each other. I did IMFL last year. This year it is all about my wife. She is training for her first marathon, the Marine Corps at the end of Oct. She has run 10 or 12 half marathons, but this is her first full. I committed to run the race with her and to be by her side while training and during the race. In order to do this, I have substituted some of my bike training in order to put her training first, which was our agreement. The payoff (besides the fact that I get to spend a lot of time training with my wonderful and smokin hot wife)?? 6 days after her first marathon we both will be in PCB "happily" volunteering at IMFL so I can get registered for IMFL 2013. A little give and take goes a long way. With that said, if you do not have the full support of your spouse when training for an IM either1) your IM training will suffer greatly, 2) your marriage will suffer greatly, or 3) both will happen. |
