It's a hilly course but it's great. The turnout is huge. There's no chance not to draft I've found given the huge number of people.

Come to think of it in all my Tri's I have never seen a single person get caught for drafting depsite virtual pelton's of riders.

I'm doing the sprint now too! So I'll see everyone there. We should pick a spot to meet before the race and get a pic to sumbit to BT.

hmmm... hills. Well this will be a challenge. I just did an olympic duathlon but it was flat. Can't wait to challenge myself on the course and to meet everyone. Just let me know where to meet you guys for the pic, should be a blast!

well a good spot to try for the meeting place is the subaru archway...the one thats 10 meters from the finish. it could work unless you think it'll be to crowded around there...

will post a photo soon as well, I'm not familliar with the venue, so will keep a lookout for the swim archway. Being from SW ontario I'm having difficulty finding good hills for cycling. Anyone have suggestions for hill training in the London area?

the triathlon archway is pretty easy to spot...its right on the edge of the sand from the beach. you just have to go down the hill towards the water and you really can't miss it.

I'm sure if anyone could miss it, it would be me. So far my biggest fear at each of the 3 events I've done is getting lost on the course. I'm tempted to go down a day early just to do a run through and quite my anxiety . I'm not familliar with Guelph.

The guelph course is well laid out and you really can't get lost on the course, the transition areas in out/around can be a bit confusing. I would suggest getting there early and get very comfortable with the transition zones run up from the beach and where to enter exit.

Just give yourself plenty of time to get there and you'll be good.

What about timing... anyone there for the Try a Tri either jstrapping or competing could meet around 9:30 ? and those there for the sprint meet about 12:30 (can't remember the start time of the sprint)

yeah, timing is an impotant issue. i think 9:30 is a good time for the try, and if i remember correctly (i'm probably not) the sprint starts...around 2? maybe 1? somewhere around there. Meh either of the two. Just out of curiosity jknapman...how did you get that interesting smiley? i only have the original four .

Go to the control panel and scroll down to the "Use rich edit box when composing messeges?" and select TinyMCE editor (experemental)."

Smart a$$? Could be worse I guess. I might not be smart.

Sprint starts at 1:30.  Maybe its a good idea for everyone to meet in between the 2 events if time allows.

GII may be in doubt for me ladies and gents. I haven't swam in almost 4 weeks. If I do it I'll be going in with ZERO swim time in August. I'm full on training for the next 1/2 mary.

Even if I don't race I'll make it out to jockstrap...

I'm sorry to hear that Timmy. I know you were looking foward to doing the Oly originally. But the half take priority. Its too bad, but looking forward to seeing you even if you decide not to race.
