Eventually what goes around comes around. Hey, you go to Arkansas yet? If so, how was it? All I know is the same people claiming the dems will end up defeating the repubs are the same people who were claiming Trump could never win the Presidency......for many of the exact same reasons they are using now. How'd that turn out for you? You still don't get how sick and tired the middle of the country is with business as usual, and having left and right coast ideas shoved down their throats. My guess is you'll get another lesson today in Alabama. The pendulum does swing both ways for sure, but I personally feel that the pendulum was swinging at 5°-10° increments back and forth for several decades and then Obama came to town and swung it 90° to the left. He was so offensive to middle America that it could take a long time for it to swing back the other way. |

The water situation there is not good, so some of the usual timber spots we hit were completely dry. We ended up in some pits in a rice field for 3 of the days, and I don't care much for that style of hunting, but it was the only game in town. We ended up killing about 60 ducks, mostly mallards, but few teal and pintails so it wasn't horrible......but that's 2 days worth under normal conditions. My old dog got some easy work so that makes it all worth it to me. Edited by Left Brain 2017-12-12 1:24 PM |

We've had a cold snap here and friends have told me that local lakes have good populations of ringnecks and canvasbacks. Too much stuff to do before XMas but duck season goes until Jan 30th so looking forward to getting out there after the first of the year. |

I take my grandfathers SxS out duck hunting and as steel is a no-no in vintage guns, I have used tungsten-matrix loads in the past. Even a dandy coastal elite such as myself questions a $2.25/shell price tag for these. Now the BassPro near me has the Kent Bismuth shells and the price is far better, mail order is within 20% of the cost of steel shot. Everything I read says bismuth ballistically more like lead. Anxious to try out. |

But if the Brown/Jones victories can portend wave elections, it is now incumbent upon the Dems to bring out their plans for how to go forward. Unsure being the party of anti-Trump is going to get them far, they need to dump their current leadership and let some of the young guys and gals lead them. |

Pro 6838 Tejas | Subject: RE: Accused Sexual Assaulter POTUS Endorses Accused Pedophile for Governor Definitely takes a lot of the wind out of the sexual assault angle plan to impeach Trump. The loss is good for the country and Alabama. I think a 30 something guy dating underage girls is wrong, even if nothing sexual happened. What's bad for the country is the democrats will use the sexual impropriety angle to destroy any candidate facing them. The media will play the story and the damage will be done. Politics has entered a new low and the republicans will most likely play 'high road' and refuse to resort to such tactics. Thus ensuring their getting their a@@es handed to them and losing their majority. As much as I despise the democrats, I don't have faith in the republicans doing a better job, so looks like we the taxpayer are in for a good screwing, no matter who is in charge. |

I was chatting with a pretty liberal friend on FB last night who sees this as a sign that the Democrats are going to sweep every election going forward. I mean, they won in a deep red state so everywhere else is guaranteed. Um, the guy was dating teenage girls and people didn't want to vote for him and held their nose and voted for the other guy or didn't vote at all. I don't think that's a platform for national victories. I wasn't in Alabama, so I could be wrong on this but it doesn't seem like Jones campaigned in any way on a platform or issues. It seemed to be 100% that Judge Moore is bad, vote for me. In the case of a candidate who is actually bad that can work. |

I think the dating teenage girls is really what did him in. The actual assault allegations seemed pretty sketchy at best, but I think it was undeniable that he did date or at least pursue relationships with teenage girls when he was in his 30's and that's pretty creepy even back in the 70's. Knowing what we know now I'm still not sure if the GOP should have handled it any differently. With the dirty politics of holding all these allegations strategically until the day after he could withdraw or be replaced the DNC did truly politic their way into this seat. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it is pretty dirty. |
