OOoohh - I'm scared of the red team just based on your description....don't tell me the gory details or I won't be able to sleep.

Before I start to look like a sand-bagger, let me just tell you that I gave you the minutes from my plan, but it turns out I'm a little ahead of schedule and in better shape than anticipated. Sorry.... (I really didn't think I'd be able to swim as much as I am.) At least I'm not adding green yes's to the red team.

GO GREEN!!!

Kristen

Well I'm easily ahead on the swimming, but I missed my run today because my running shoes are missing, and I can't go running in my riding boots.  I'm going to hope that they show up in the lost and found because my only other pair are too small and completely worn out.  I'll use them Sat If I have to but I hope not.

Hi Team,

Temperature seems to be changing (for the better).  We've had a few days where with the wind chill we've been close to -40 (Celisius or Fahrenheit - don't matter).

Hoping to get in an 8 km run tomorrow (my parents are visiting from Ontario so have to squeeze in my work outs around their visit).  If I do get in this run then I will be on pace for both my swim and run.

Hope everyone else is doing well.  No more lost shoes!

Steve

They're still not found, but I dug out my old ones and went this morning before work!

I'm injured!  WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!  My coach ordered a strict rest day for yesterday, today and tomorrow which really sucks because my LSD run was scheduled for today.  That would have put me on pace for the challenge.

I'm thinking about swimming tonight but I'm on the fence.  I *know* I should rest...but a swim wouldn't be that bad on my knee right??  Maybe if I do more arm drills and only kicka few hundred yards, I'll be alright....  (thinking out loud here...)

I'm icing now with my leg elevated and I've been doing my best to get off my feet every few hours so we'll see.  I'll definitely be in the "NO" category for running, there is no getting around that but I'll see if I can pull it out for the swim.

If all goes well, I'll be able to do more next week!!

Sorry to hear about the knee Elektra. Please be carefull and nurse that thing back to good and solid. No challenge is big enough to need you to do big damage to yourself in order to win it.

I got a good week of training in and hope to maintain that pace for the reminder of january. My workload at the office will increase with the arrival on monday of a student that i will have to mentor-supervise- teach and pretty much boss around for the next 7 weeks. So,i hope i can make it all fit. Oh and i got myself the nike plus system to reward me of all that beautifull running

I decided to really rest today.  I mean, I cleaned my house and ran to the mall with Lyndsey but iced every 2-3 hours and elevated.  I don't want to push it and would rather just come back strong next week.

Good luck you guys!  I'll do my best to make up my missed time before the end of the month.

Sorry to hear about your injurey elektra.  Listen to the doc so that you come back strong.

Got in a nice afternoon run with my wife.  Nice by Canada standards.  -10 celsius with fresh powdery snow underfoot.  Certainly could be worse!

Week 2 Spreadsheet

We picked up one more green yes (on pace) this week.  So close to two.  This is the point where people should review where they are at and make some adjustments if necessary.  Also - get out there and offer some inspires to fellow teammates!

Good luck all!

Steve

OK, everybody. I'm now back from travelling and so things should hopefully get back to normal. Although according to the numbers I appear to be falling behind, I'm actually well ahead of schedule for swimming and on track for running. Of those two, the run goal will be harder, to stay on my case!!

Let's get running and swimming and have a great week!!

Tri swim class started last night so barring any injury or illness I should have no problem meeting my swim goal for the month.

We woke up to about 15 cm of fresh snow up in our part of Calgary.  Will make for some interesting runs.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Let's go Green Team!

OK team! Looks like we need to get in the pool - that's where we're the most behind... (I'm banking my pool meters, because I'm out of town next weekend and swimming in the 10m hotel pool amid the kidlets is NOT going to cut it).

I'm not so good at stats, but we don't want the _____ (fill in color here) team to beat us. Is it the blue team that is most ahead now? Or the purple team? You can't tell I majored in math & science, huh? So embarassing.

GET WET!!! GET RUNNING!!!

Blue's in the best shape in that more of their team is on pace.  Pace though is expected to be the same each week while I know a few people on our team have plans for longer swims or runs later in the month.  So I guess we could improve on the spreadsheet if people submitted what their weekly goals are in each event.

Hey all!

How is everyone doing? I will be better at stopping by people's logs now that I'm back home and not travelling.

Got in a good swim this morning and have a run planned for tonight.

I am dead on track for both swim and run, although must hit all  my runs the rest of the month!

enjoy,
tom

Hey, all!

I'm a bit under the weather with a little stomach bug, so I'm slacking abit to end this week, but I think I'm enough ahead that I won't hurt the team's progress.

Hope y'all are doing great & have a productive weekend!

Spreadsheet Updated - Week 3.

Hi team.  I haven't had much time to analyse the spreadsheet but I think we're seeing some improvement (more Green Yes's).

My run this week turned into a red no.  Tough weekend.  Took our golden retriever for his annual checkup.  He got a couple of shots while there and was up most of the night asking out and beinging sick.  What little sleep I did get was on the living room floor so that I could get to the door quick enough to let him out.

Saturday I hoped to get out for a run but the kids have skating lessons in the morning and since we were going out in the evening I needed a nap in the afternoon.  That wiped out Saturday.

Today - we had church in the morning and so I went out this afternoon for what was to be my long run for the week and 3.5 km into it I witness a car crash.  Thankfully everyone in the crash was fine but I had to hang around for the police to arrive and fill out a witness form.

I will be back on track with my run next weekend!

Hope everyone else is doing well.  Wish you all a good week!

Steve

Hey Steve,

I didn't have reliable internet access over the weekend so I wasn't able to log my workouts until today.  I actually got the green light from my coach to do a little bit of work at the end of the week so I have numbers to report!!

Run: 65 minutes
Swim: 45 minutes

The knee is feeling better so I should be back on track this week.
