I was able to get away to Northern Wisconsin and spend two days building rock walls, the legs and back are feeling it today, but it was fun. Looking forward to this weekend, going camping and doing a 15K trail run. I rarely get to trail run but when I do, I always have a great time.

I am having surgery next Wed. Which is 8 weeks from my permit to Climb Mt. Rainer.

The next few weeks are going to be trying....

Climbing Mt. Rainer is a life long dream of mine (one of those "CHECKLIST ITEMS" in life), and I am so close, yet I was just kicked in the gut!

It will be fine though. It will just make it a little more difficult, and it will make me stronger in the long run!

Wow...sorry to hear about the knee. Just a small delay in the overall picture. You will still climb and probably do better now because the set back will only fuel your determination. No worries.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Sorry to hear about the knees buddy. Make sure you listen to your doc about how to handle everything after the surgery. Remember that those things that are more difficult are always more worth it in the end.

Well, not the Triathlon world, but I hiked up to Camp Muir on Mt. Rainer on Saturday... 5000 feet of climbing. Roundtrip 9.3 Miles. Elevation:10200 feet. The one thing that got me was the snow/sun? The glare was brutal, and I was so sunburned. Blisters on my face. Knee held up pretty well. I think due to slushy snow.

That looks like a ton of fun. good thing the knee held up, that has to give you some confidence going into your surgery. You'll be back at it in no time.

Well, I just signed up for my first Olympic Distance Triathlon. I will be competing in the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon on Aug. 19 2007 in Pleasant Prairie, WI. I have a sprint distance on July 15 just to get the feel for it, so I hope that goes well. Now I need to get on a training program, I've kind of been going at it on my own lately.

Hey Everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent mine doing the Great Midwest Relay from Madison, Wisc to Chicago. It was 190 miles worth of fun. If anyone of you ever get the chance to do it, I would highly recommend it.

But other than that, just a little excited because today I got accepted for the New York City Marathon. But don't know if i will defer or do it since i am already signed up to run Chicago.

But anyways, hope you all have a great weekend!

You get NO SYMPATHY FROM ME!

SHOULD I DO THE CHICAGO MARATHON, OR SHOULD I DO NYC MARATHON! BOO HOO! POOR YOU! Just kidding that is great. Tough decision. NYC would be a great experience in my opinion. I would try to run w/ Lance Armstrong the entire way (ok maybe the 1st 100 yards-- ok I would just try to say hi to him @ the start!).

New user name. When i signed up with BT i was toying with the idea of doing a tri. Triathlon has truly been a lifestyle change and felt my BT name should reflect it. I am a tri guy now.

Any good stories from the weekend? Funny?

My weekend...

A hike on Saturday... Thought I was going to have to get airlifted off the moutain when I slipped and strained my knee... It was painful, but I survived..

Saturday night--- a lot of wine

Sunday--- A lot of coffee, followed by my 1st run since my surgery...

Sunday night--- A GOOD BOOK!

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! Steve, sorry to hear about your knee! That really sux!

Saturday - went to my morning yoga class and then headed over to the Relay for Life event hosted by the American Cancer Society (my internship.) Then went home and packed up the bike and tri bag for the tri on Sunday.

Sunday - OC Blazeman. A local family put on the OC Blazeman Ironman and Half Ironman tri. All proceeds went to blazeman and ms funds. Truly a unique experience for a great cause! Everyone who participated was just awesome!

Decided the night before that I would not do the run portion of the tri, so I guess I did a half iron duathlon 57.2 The swim portion turned out to be a little longer as we could not cut half a loop from the course. I was first out of the water. Transition was a little different because it was out of our cars! That was super slow! Got on the bike and headed down the road. It wasn't until I made the fist turn I saw the 2nd place guy about 6 miles behind me. I was able to maintain my distance throughout the entire ride even going an extra 6 miles further than I should have (missed the turn for half iron distance.)

This was not supposed to be a race, it was simply to have fun and raise awareness. A lot of people did relay teams and some came to do single events. Fun day!

YOUR A STUD!! Does this mean that you were able to "DRAFT" on the race officials motorcycle? Great job. Also great job for being smart enough, and strong enough to pull out after the bike.

My brother in law did this yesterday as well @ Ironman CD... He was out of the water in 1:16.... 500+ place... HAMMERED IT HOME ON THE BIKE! Dropping down to 111 after the bike... Having torn his calf muscle a month ago, he decided it was not smart to push it threw. This was a "training" day for him. Ironman Kentucky is going to be his race to qualify for Hawaii.

It take's a big person to pull out when you are doing SO WELL! I would say 1st place... THAT'S PRETTY DANG GOOD! Congrats...
