OLN (ak VS) usually starts their coverage at 7 or 8 am Central time. Then they have replays seemingly all day long. I LOVE working from home when its TDF time.

we made an ESPN top ten list..

6. Borat: 2,200 Miles of France for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Need another guy to root for? Alexander Vinokourov of Kazakhstan got hosed last year. He wasn't implicated in the Operacion Puerto doping scandal, but enough of his teammates were that his team didn't have enough riders to compete. So he got the boot from the biggest race in the world, even though he was innocent (as far as we know). This has been Kazakhstan's year in sports -- Oleg Maskaev beat Hasim Rahman for the WBC heavyweight crown -- so if Vinokourov wins, we'll probably get to see plenty of Borat clips.

Hi Team - there has been a query with regard to cycle commutes, should they be counted as one stage or two?

Ive already stated that two a day workouts are fine i.e a spin class in the morning and a road ride at night would be two stages BUT a commute could be argued to be different as technically you HAVE to ride both ways...

Personally I think it comes down to how you counted it when you committed your stages... as long as you state how you are counting your commute in the beginning and stick to it I have no major objections but if anyone has a strong opinion regarding this please let me know.

Thanks

Cat

PS: HUGE congratulations to everyone who has already got a ride in for the challenge

Sheesh, not really but I guess if no one else is going to step up. Please let me know your commitments as to how many rides you will be completing from July 7th - July 29th inclusive. My commitment is 10 rides, with one completed over the weekend.

If you already made a committment on the original TDF Challenge thread, please use that number and I will submit to the challenge organizer.

If you can each give me an update each Sunday eveining, I will need to provide the update to the organizer on Monday. Please log your rides for verification purposes.

Thanks, and good luck riding!

Nathan, are you leading the "statistics battle" ? I hope so, as I can't do it and I don't see anyone else stepping up.

No team leader - how sad.  Every cyclist out for his own glory.  You guys would probably leave your own team member if they went down in the crash.

nice job on your rides thus far you sissies

OK team, time to get organized

Looks like Bajapat (patrick) is rocking out the rides so far with 3 under the belt out of 12 committed rides. Looks like you had a race day the other day too? What kind of race was it and how did you do? Let us know if you did a race report, I'd like to check it out.

apw0397 (andy) looks like you had a race this past weekend as well? Disco triathlon? Hmm, 70's music and racing. Interesting. How'd it go?

mattajw (matt) has 2 rides under the belt already. Nice work!

robdbirch (robert) is also steppin' things up with 2 rides in already.

z-dog (ze'ev) also has 2 done already. Go team Litespeed!

cathyd (cathy) has one ride marked off her list.

As for myself, I've completed 2/10 scheduled rides. Will be a slow week for me, as I have family coming into town.

Can each one of you send me a private message or post here what your committed number of rides for the challenge is? I have that Patrick committed 12 rides but I don't have anyone elses. I'll give a reminder Sunday evening that I will need to get an update on how many rides each of us has completed, as this info is due back to the challenge coordinator on Monday. Please encourage your teamates! Thanks all!

Nathan

I've been taping the three hour segments and actually watched the whole dang thing two nights ago, wondering if the breakaway was going to hold until the end....well almost

I love watching these guys duke it out at 20-30mph ! I'm amazed at the wattage some of the racers can maintain over long distances.
