Veteran 144 Tucson | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge Throw me down for 30,000 yards to start. I'll be on a business trip the entire month but there's supposed to be an outdoor pool at my hotel. Let's just hope it's open and useful... Any team is fine, just fine. |

Extreme Veteran 462 Brisbane QLD | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge Do flipper/pool buoy/fickboard distances contribute to the grand total?? The distance I do in the pool is always set in stone by my coach... since I'm doing squad. We normally do between 1.8-2.5km. Today we did 3km!!! So it fluctuates. If I predict - 2km per squad + 600m from races. That leaves me with 12600m Should be able to break that. Esp if I "warm up" before the two races. I WILL break this distance during week 3. If I don't then I'm screwed because Both pools that are nearby me will closed between the 25th to the 1st January. |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge Sign me up - I'm still fine-tuning my goal. But for now put me in for 35,000 yds - I'm in the same boat as Pam and will only be swimming for at least the next 3 weeks when do I need to let you know my final goal (I need to do a reality check on this one) |

Elite 3471 Evergreen, CO | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge K, I'm jumping in.... I really don't like swimming so I'm going to be a bit conservative -- just in case I need to miss a couple swims or the pool closes or whatnot. But this will make me head to the cold boring pool when I'd rather blog or sleep 12,000 yds. When you say if we exceed our goal in the 1st 3 weeks it doesn't count, does that mean my goal is 3,000 yds/week? So if the pool is closed Xmas week, we should take that into account for the overall goal since in the early part of the month we can't get credit for later in the month ... hmmmm... This requires math. K, I'm in, even if it means going to the pool after work and on weekends.... Yay!! After all that hemming and hawing - I'm going to get this done! |

After all that hemming and hawing - I'm going to get this done! haha I wondered when someone would ask about that! Its all about making sure people dont severely under estimate their goal thats all... so if you hit 100% in the first 3 weeks you stay at 100% (swim all 12000 yards by the end of week 3) even if you swim more (or you can up your goal) If you exceed your swim goal in the final week then your extra mileage can help out anyone on your team who may not make their goal... thats all! You can swim your yards whenever you chose so if the pool is shut in the final week and you dont swim that week its all good! Does that make sense? |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Splash Through the Silly Season December Swim Challenge Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm in for 6000 yards. Hey--don't laugh at the lame duck--I'm under strict orders to sit on the couch, eat tater crisps and watch $hyty TV for two weeks--maybe some active-recovery workouts. So here's my preference for teams, given that (as everyone knows) I'm easy .... to please, I mean. 1. Chatty. I need enough yapping to cut through my post-marathon depression. I don't want to start this challenge by jumping off a cliff into the sea, y'know? 2. Hard-core swimmers.
Frankly--I also can't imagine doing a challenge without Judi (zipp1). But I'll go stalk her team if I have to. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH CAT AND DONTO!!!!! Wow, talk about a BT powerhouse duo ... two of the smartest, hottest, coolest athletes ever. |
