I'm actually feeling pretty good - stomach thing is gone (for now) and then the other day I put on my favorite old pair of work boots to go cut down our tree and the tendon running along the outside of my right foor became inflamed!!! (it's happened before - this time I was just stupid to put the boots on)

So yesterday I went to the foot doctor and got a wonderful shot of cortisone and today it's feeling just about back to 100%...

thanks for asking...

again... I hope everybody's feeling better!

glad to hear you are doing better!

Good morning everybody!  Tomorrow's FRIDAY!

Hope you're all feeling better today!

I'm trying to do well with my eating but these holidays are SO tough! Between the office and home there's just too much JUNK!

I think the best we can do is minimize our portions of JUNK! It doesn't do any good to try and go COLD TURKEY... this is going to be my approch anyway...

How's everybody else dealing with the JUNK?

Morning! I am feeling a bit better today I actually swept the kitchen floor! LOL
Trying to prepare my house for the holidays and being sick is no way to bring about christmas cheer!
As far as the junk I have been pretty lucky in that arena since I have been sick all week I have not had the craving for anything, well most things, the only things that sound good are tater tots and frozen kashi pizzas. So that has been my diet all week. Not exactly healthy but keeps me from not eating anything and really screwing up my metabolism.
Hoope everyone has a great day and good luck with your holiday challenges today! Jana

Am I the only one who feels like this week is just dddddrrrrrraaaaaaggggggggiiiiiiinnnnngggggg by?

As to the "junk" eating this week, I've kept myself down to just devouring the home made fudge, but I've been sure to leave some for others.

Whatever. It happens once a year, and I'm going to enjoy it durnit!

Who's making New Year resolutions? I don't normally, because I don't want to set myself up for failure, but this year I'm making 1, which isn't weight related (since that seems to be what everyone does). My resolution is to catch up on everything I'm behind on, by the end of January.

That is a great resolution! I don't think I will make a "resolution" per say but I am going to say that I will try to stay devoted to my goals by making more time for myself and stop trying to do EVERYTHING. I mean doing nice things for the people you love is one thing but trying to please everyone all the time is totally rediculous and I have to stop for my own good. So that is my resolution I guess.

I year ya! A couple of years ago I became a very selfish person. If it didn't benefit me specifically, I said "no." I used to be one of *those* kind of people! LOL

I am glad I am not the only one!! I mean seriously why is it so hard to say no to people I mean it is not like they have any trouble saying no to me.I think a lot of it has to do with my own self image issues but I said this past year that I was not going to do as much and I did not I actually did pretty well but it seems like the last few months I have slipped back into those old habits, so I really have to watch myself. I am glad to hear that becoming better about it can be done. Any tricks? or Suggestions??

Practice, practice, practice.

I usually say "I can't" and on the very rare occasion I'm asked why, if I feel like giving an excuse I'll say "I have an obligation for that day."

That obligation is to take care of me in whatever form I need taking care of on that particular day, but they don't need to know that.

was pretty psyched for this day... office party, 4-day weekend... got a quick swim in this morning and was hoping to run or ride this afternoon but my stomach pain is recurring!!!

not sure what causes this HORRIBLE sharp pain - 7-8 years ago they thought it was diverticulitis and removed 10 inches of my colon...

now they say that's not causing THIS pain even though it feels exactly the same...

so anyway...

I weighed up 1.5 pounds and just as the loss could be attributed to my lack of eating this might be able to be attributed to my bloating and my system being backed up...

I hope it isn't too prolonged - I was really on a workout tear!

LOL

it's sort of like the grown up version of 'i have to wash my hair'

I do have to agree though Terri - it really works, and it doesn't mean you don't still do stuff for people, just that you are selective

Hey everyone! Ok, I guess my New Year's Resolution should be to post here with my WW tri buddies more. I got sucked up into the world and challenges and somehow lost my way to this forum. I resolve to change that starting right now!

MrsUSMC - 2007-12-20 9:22 AM

I year ya! A couple of years ago I became a very selfish person. If it didn't benefit me specifically, I said "no." I used to be one of *those* kind of people! LOL

I can vouch for Terri on this one. In fact, she's always reminding me that I should stop being one of *those* kind of people, too. I am the Queen of people pleasing, especially at work. Perhaps changing that should be another New Year's resolution for me.

I'll be heading to my WW meeting tomorrow morning. I expect to be up a couple of pounds from my last weigh in 2 weeks ago, but I'm OK with it. My goal back on Nov. 1 was to hit Jan. 1 with no weight gain and if I actually lost, all the better. Right now, I think I'm still about 3-4 pounds down from my weight then. I'm past all of my eating events parties other than Christmas Day, but that should be a fairly low key.

I'll be spending it with the family of my late ex-husband and ham is on the menu. Since I don't eat ham, that makes it easier for me. We're eating at 2pm, so my plan is to eat a very light healthy snack at home around 11am-12pm so I don't arrive there really hungry. If I stick with my plan, I should be able to stay on track quite easily.

I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season. I promise to start check in regularly again.

I don't generally go for resolutions...I continually have goals that I work on and adjust as appropriate (You can see that when you look in my blogs).  I don't generally do time goals (reach thus and such by THIS date) either, because then I just get mad at myself when I don't reach the goal, and it become counter productive.

Re: the saying no/selfish thing...heh.  I'm single, no kids, not a lot of family around, I really don't have people who ask too much of me.  But I am the type that does things for other unexpectedly.  I like that arrangement much better.  However, on the flip side, I have real problems asking others for help because I don't want to be a bother or interfer in their lives.
