knyost - 2010-09-24 10:34 AM So, who's up for the IronSavage next year?

You have got to be kidding, right?  Is this really in the works?

Yeah, two ways to read that... A HIM that is Ironman tough or doubling up every distance to make it a full Ironman distance event.  LOL  I just cannot imagine such nonsense.  That would be one painful 26.2 to walk.

If you make it up Westerport Wall on both laps, you don't get two bricks, you actually get a full sized cinder block.

Actually, if you make it up twice you get a key to the city of Westernport.

Amazingly, we get lots of requests for an iron-distance version.  There are people out there sicker than me, believe it or not.

But, no.  There are not enough hours in the day for an IronSavage.  Nor would it be fair to the poor volunteers to be out there all day and night for the few sickos who would want to take it on.

I like the line of thinking, though, to which I always respond: "The Diabolical Double is for you!  And feel free to go for a long run when you're done."  No one ever seems to, though.

I dropped to the ground after I crossed and just lay there for a minute. I was so glad to stop moving. There was a little kid with a volunteer shirt on who was "working" the finish line with his mom. As I lay on the ground for a minute or so he asked her, "What happened to that guy." I didn't want him to worry so I told him I was ok and he just looked at me totally straight faced and said "I wasn't talking about you."

Sorry to out-collapse you Brad.  If it makes you feel better, I bet you got ice cream.

Sadly, no.

Let me go on record as saying that I'm either racing Kona or Savageman next year.

What's your number?  I'm sure I get some wrong and either misread a smudged number on someones arm or leg, or fat-finger it as I enter them into the spreadsheet, but to get the same person as you for multiple pictures seems odd.

Josh, my dad was one of the photographers and got some more staggering finish line photos of you.  He sent a DVD off yesterday, so they should end up on the website.

He also caught me getting unauthorized pacing assistance from my 7-year-old daughter.  Don't tell Greg and Kyle.

Hey sugar, that's not you....sorry bro just going with the taper theme... Looks like the shorts are covering the upper loop of the 3. I believe that # is 312 ..... part of a relay team.

QUOTE]trotpntbll - 2010-09-24 2:55 PM 212. It doesn't look smudged. Clear as day, 212 on this persons left quad.

There are some pretty great pics starting to show up!  I've been looking through the original files, and I see some people who *look* worse than me.

This person went down before they even got to the wall

ETA - there's a whole sequence of carnage (8 pics) of the guy in the gray shorts going down and taking others with him.

Great photographers out there!!!!

That's Ilhan Birgin from TeamZ.  I suspect he was part of a relay.  Tough guy, I'm sure he persevered.  Sweet kit.

Here's my favorite.  I'm yelling at this guy and pummeling him with my vuvuzela.

"Kiss the Wall.  KISS IT!!!! KISS IT!!!!!"

(seriously, I hope everyone takes the pictures and videos and fun-poking all in the good humor it is intended)
