givemashot - 2008-06-13 12:40 PM I think I've lived in Utah too long...every time I hear someone talk a bout a race on Sunday, I do a double take. The whole concept seems so foreign. Growing up, there were only a handful of gas stations and grocery stores that stayed open on Sundays. Things have gotten a lot better as I've aged.

I remember being in Virginia in 1995 for the Navy and the malls were closed on Sunday's!  This have definitely changed for sure!

Wonder where the Bible Belt is defined as today?  Maybe our Pastor's waist line?  (Get it I made a funny!)

That's 2 funnies in 1 day Bill --  niiiice!  Yes, I caught the triaining one

Okay cheesecake's...

I think I'm back in the race challenge.... jsut went for a short swim and I feel good about it...

I'm going to race tomorrow   This WILL be my first one, finally I'll get to get it out of the way... so far it looks like it's going to be really small too... still haven't seen any women in my age group sign-up so I expect they'll combine ages...

Okay, let me figure out my new numbers and get back with Dee...

Hey Team! After i make my venture home on my bike today I will have successfully commuted three days in a row! I dont know how some people commute every day! I am seriously wiped out and definitely looking forward to a day off of the bike tomorrow. Hoping to get in an open water swim tho!

Aero Bars... oooh! I think that may be an upgrade not too far in the future for me!

 GO TEAM!! Almost HALF WAY!

I have found the morning commute is golden, but the evening kicks my bippee every day!  I like the fact that I am having to train in the afternoon/evening when I generally don't.  I think that is a big part of it and I know my body will adapt the more I keep it up!

Great job on the commute.  We have a challenge if you want to jump in.  We take all past commutes as well and it is self monitored so check us out if you want!

Yes, I am hoping that my body will adapt the more I do it! I am hoping to keep up the 3 days a week and possibly 4 a week! I need to drive Mondays to stock the fridge at work... a girls gotta eat! Thanks for the motivation, I will check out your challenge!

mmmm, chocolate milk!

took today off so I could celebrate my NEW promotion I received today! I will now be leading a team of 8!! I am so excited for the new role and the challenge of leading a team! I also won an amazing raffle today so I just picked up an awesome basket full of over $600 in quality hair product! not too shabby for a Friday the 13th eh??

hoping for a surf or ocean swim tomorrow and might hop on the bike for a nice spin... trying to stay off the foot as I think I may have pulled a muscle last weekend!

Good work team! almost HALF way!

Yes, Happy Father's Day!!!!

Got in a lake swim and short ride so far today.  Hope to get a run in tonight and maybe some strength.  Long ride tomorrow after cheering at 5430 Sprint in Boulder.

Was hoping to get my snow tires changed since I'm pretty sure we're safe from another snowstorm, but the tire place has a 4 hr wait.  Everyone else waited til mid-June too    So 2 more days of noisy tires.  Unfortunately we're also doing a lot of driving (for us) the next 2 days.   Then I'm going to start commuting on my bike.  Just realized I can either do a mtn bike trail ride to work or a loopy road ride -- gotta add mileage since my commute is only 2.5 miles

I DID IT!!!  COmpleted my first race!!

1:36:03  ( which somehow got me a third place medal???)

Yep, it was a small race that was poorly advertised.  Wasn't a fancy job, you had to watch your own watch for splits.. all they recorded was overall time.  But I'm happy and my 5yr old was even happier parading my medal around today

June Challenge Team Standings - Week #2

Can you believe that June is already 50% finished? Here's how the teams stack up after the second week:

FIRST PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos - 41.6%
SECOND PLACE - Avatar Avengers - 36.7%
THIRD PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers - 36.6%
FOURTH PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) - 24.4%

Congratulations to the KAMIKAZE GECKOS!

BUT June is only halfway finished - we still have 15 more days to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT!

Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June?

The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more!
This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.

- Dee
