DH CANT take the day off tomorrow.  sad day.    waaaah.  (the sound of me whining....)

but ive decided im gonna go out on my own anyways.

i need one of those SOUL RIDES, where you just go and your not worried about cadence or pace or time or nothing.  just ride for the fun of it.  that's what i have planned tomorrow.

im gonna make it an urban ride, follow the trail round the city, stop off at REI and see if they have the lock laces and i need to pick up Honey Stingers and then take myself out to lunch.  there are too really hip/cool areas on either end of the trail, so ill have my choice of eateries.

gonna be a GRAND, KID-FREE, SOUL RIDIN' KINDA DAY!

weee heeee for me!

Morning guys!  Rest day for me today.  Well, resting from training.  My niece is over.  Her and Alex had a sleep over last night.  Giggly 8 year old girls.  Yikes!  I took them to see the Hannah Montana movie last night.  It wasn't half bad but still a waste of 25 bucks.  Today we are off to the Submarine Force Museum.  I find it dull and boring but the kids love to go on the Nautilus (first nuclear powered submarine) and my niece has never been.  Then we will go to the bike shop cause they are having a tent sale and I might need something I didn't know I needed!   Then I have to return my niece to my sister.  Then off to a lacrosse game and then dinner.  Gonna be a busy day but fun day!

to today i conquered the mountain-both literally and figuratively. out of s/b/r biking is my favorite, but i havent been able to ride hills in a comfortable fashion until this morning. i live in suburban los angeles, and yes there are mountains 10 mins from my house. i have rode up glendora mountain road probably 2 dozen times, but i havent ridden it since october i think. glendora mountain road is steep and windy and if i can maintain 8mph i am happy. well this morning was my first attempt to try it with the new hardware in my knee. it was a tough climb, and i usually climb seated, but at 6mph this morning i am happy. the elevation increase is over 2500ft in about 5 miles. my knee felt great and still feels fine. it was a beautiful morning to conquer the mountain.

we all have those days...  makes you appreciate the good ones!!!

hope everyone is having a nice weekend... had my tri this morning...  it was the last one in a series of 3 this year...  this one was 400 yds in the pool... 8 miles on a spin bike... and a 2.3 mile run outside...  apparently all of this training is starting to pay off...  finished 3rd overall and 1st in my age group... not a very big field though - only about 65 participants...  however finished 6th and 7th in the previous 2...  so this was pretty good by comparison...

after the tri i did another 65 minutes on the bike and then got my 6th strength training session in... yeah...  60% of my goal...!!!

Bah!  Sorry you had a rough training weekend!  I checked your logs.  How's the road rash?  Hopefully not too bad.  It takes some practice.  Keep at it and you and Raven will soon be on the same wavelength!

After my rough ride yesterday, I have decided that I need to focus more on biking.  So, I will be spending even more time on my bike.  Not so much pool time and much more outdoor riding time.  If it isn't pouring, I'll be riding!  I got in another ride this morning.  Probably too much chatting going on but it was fun!  I'm a bit discouraged but thankful that I still have two months of hard training before the HIM.
