I can't keep up with the post padding.

I had a long run tonight, ugh...it was S-L-O-W....but I finished it out....

Don't worry.  Anything of importance is in red.  Are you racing this weekend?

No.  I have the toddlers for church this weekend.  I may volunteer at the sprint 7/19.

My next race is the Oly in NY.  That lake is COLD, the bike has a humongous hill right off T1 with lots of rollers--but it's a gorgeous ride along the lake with wineries and all too (must not ride for sight seeing tour in the race) and the run loop is up a trail to a waterfall.

I did sign up for 2 other events though.  My employer sponsors a ride Aug 8, first 200 employees to register got a free pass.  SCORE!

Signed up for another oly in Sept too.

Which Oly in NY?
My mother lives there, it's my way of doing the obligatory family visit but having fun.

Plus I am going to meet my BT husband after 3 years   He and I are racing this one with a personal side challenge.  I did the sprint on this race my first season and the lake owes me a decent swim (ha ha, I've goten worse!)  so I need to go back to prove a point....NOT that I'm a good swimmer....that I face my demons.

Free pass - awesome!
A race by wineries, for some reason me thinks your time will be slow that day with all your stops for wine tasting.

We did some wine tasting there a couple years ago when I did the sprint (day before the race, not OF!)  Nice local wines.

Yay! Thanks Dee!!!

Even more disturbing than that pic I just sent you... this may have been the last time I ate a milano. The below picture was a cake I made for my bf's "Re-birthday Party". The orange milanos were cut in half and dipped in milk chocolate to make the tombstones (other than that big candle in the middle). I know... twisted. But, he loved it!

rebirthday cake
Uh. I'm not sure I would have eaten those particular milanos.... Something about the headless bodies, and all the "blood"..... LOL, you're right. This is more disturbing than the picture you sent me! LOL

blood = raspberry sauce made from fresh raspberries from my friend Max's garden except for some cake decorating gel to write his name on the top next to his "body"
zombies= marzapan and food coloring
dirt around gravestones+ bottom of cake= crushed oreos

Other than the candle, it was all edible and quite delicious! Far less offensive than that cat box cake that someone posted in Taser Running! YUK!

That's.......ummmmmmm........interesting.  So did it actually get eaten?

kns57 - 2009-07-09 2:41 PM You can't do that in the beginning or end of the day

That's my problem, too. Unless it's really early in the morning there's too much traffic to even ride out of the city to more open roads or get any speed up on the bike paths. Otherwise it's all start-stop riding that just isn't worth it or you're dodging commuters and joggers which is infuriating and dangerous.

I tried bike paths when I first started training, but thought I was going to kill someone or myself.  Now I have 4 slow tedious miles getting out of town to rural roads

I move in less than a month now and will only have 1 tedious slow mile to get out of town.  I'm looking forward to that.  Only downfall is my work commute will be much longer

I seem to remember someone posting that you can watch online. Not sure who's hosting the feed though - maybe Versus.

And a friend told me he's listening to updates on NPR. Not sure if it's a rundown after the stage is over or if there is some live commentary coming direct from the race.

Versus has a live feed in the morning.  I'm not sure if you can rewatch later

I've been getting the recaps from Versus... if someone figures out where to watch online, can you let me know? I can always throw my laptop in front of the drainer with the headphones. I always feel bad about having the tv blaring over my drainer whizzing away for fear of waking up my bf in the next room.

Check the TdF forum.  Someone there might know.
