Artemis - 2009-12-17 8:44 PM Per Phil's request, here are the mittens I knit for my sister for Christmas

mitts

Cool!  Wow, those are long!

Yep!  And super comfy.  Hers turned out way better than mine.  Mine are really snug and not very comfortable to wear.

(We will just ignore the fact that I have a bag of candy corn.)

I'm impressed that it was just one piece.  Yes, we will ignore the bag.

We're supposed to be leaving for Wisconsin tomorrow.  It's also supposed to start snowing today...they are predicting 8" for Richmond!!  It's crazy.  Hopefully it won't interfere with the drive too much, but it's making me really apprehensive and anxious right now.  I don't need the extra stress.

I really like the cabling.

I should take up knitting again.  I found it relaxing (as long as I wasn't making a bunch of mistakes) and it would be neat to learn all the different stitches for cables and such.  I think that I could really enjoy making socks...I love merino blend wool socks.

Hey...There is a librarian in Jen's mentor group!

So far it is staying quiet and no we haven't been overrun or runover by readers.

But just think what a wonderful gift a library card is.  It is free and it keeps giving them books all year long.

Hope you got the snow tires on the car and the chains ready.

But I always found that if I was traveling on major highways, the snowplows always keep them clear.  you should be fine.

Make that just plain painful, but the worst of it should be over.  I expect to have intermittent cramping over the next few days.  Right now it is a constant discomfort/mild cramping.  Advil and Heating pads are my friends.
