Well, despite all of the overwhelming advice to run today (Amy if told me to 4 times!) I didn't run.  It looks like rain won't get here until tomorrow afternoon so as long as I get out in the morning I should be in the clear.  It actually won't be too much colder in the morning.  Hopefully the forecast doesn't change before then or I'm SOL. 

Melindy - Do you have a specific bike case in mind?  I've been shopping around but haven't made up my mind yet.  I need to get one for Alcatraz and I think I may make it a tradition to do one "destination" race a year so I figure it's worth the investment.

I'm pulling for you Neal. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow as well, but I don't think there's much hope of it waiting until afternoon. Best of luck!

It has been a busy week.

Met my new Assistant Branch Manager.  It is going to be interesting to work with him.  Very strong personality, but then I've been told I have a strong personality too!  LOL

Putting out fires at the branch.  Staff are not happy about the current ABM being moved to another branch and they are acting like it is my fault.  GROW UP PEOPLE!  most of you are above the age of 50.

I'll have to go back and look to see what has been happening on the thread.  I'm planning 8 bicycle sessions this month and a couple of motorcycle sessions.  I've got 2 bicycle sessions done.  Yeah. 

Miss all of the chatter.  Hopefully next week I can get out here more.  TTFN

Good morning Ghoulies.

Yesterday morning was not good in many ways so I took half a day off.

I left work at 10. I stopped and picked up a new video game I wanted. I went to the LBS and got booties and a pair of sweet full fingered gloves for my ride today.

I came home and had a snack and a nap. Then I went for a short run. I wanted to go 4 miles, but it was way colder out than I anticipated because it was really windy. I was getting beat up so I cut it short.

Took the kids bowling last night. I bowled a 148, I think that's my second best ever. Then had some pizza at Pizza Hut. It was a good evening.

Today I'm going for a bike ride OUTSIDE!!!! Then a short run. I'm also going to go get a new pair of running shoes today.

I hope everyone has a slam dunk day!!!

Could I borrow one of those for a few days?

Neal--Well...I kinda bought one yesterday...haha...But I live in the land of limited tri equipment and it looks like a bike box was the only thing I couldn't get for cheaper from buying it in the US and shipping it up here...yaaaa....haha

I had looked around at my options. Thule seems like an invincible solution. There are definately lighter options out there, but they are more expensive from what I can see and unfortunately not available in the world without tri outlet stores :'( Or Alberta...maybe in Ontario..I dunno...

Yes...apparently I am an impulsive person. But I figure I needed one...and I have visions of my bike being crushed on an airplane...and that scares me...haha

Sounds like you made the most of your half day Ann! I hope your long-awaited outdoor bike ride goes well.

Just got home from the annual swim clinic the local tri club puts on. It was lovely. I even drug my ubby with me (he was not nice this morning when I made him get up, either). we both enjoyed it thoroughly. I was even used as the vanna white of swimming a couple times. LOL. I was there to learn what to do, but it's nice to get the pat on the back. We found out hubby can't breathe when he swims. Seriously. He'd do fine in open water with a wetsuit on, but the whole lift-your-head-and-shake-it-like-a-wet-dog-while-trying-to-swim thing doesn't work well when you're trying to move forward in the water. He's actually excited and thinks he might do a super sprint or short sprint tri this summer. yay--the givemashot household is soon to be harmoniously addicted to tri.

Oh, and the bike is still in spearate pieces--but I think I convinced hubby to take it to the LBS instead of puting it together himself. It will get done faster that way. 

OK, so I am off to shower and get ready for work. I might stop by late tonight when I get home.

Yesterday was absolutely SUCKTASTIC!

Today, absolutely FANTASTIC!!!

Got groceries this morning, with the kids. They were both on their best behavior, I love when they're able to be bribed.

They both were great and were rewarded for it. They went away with their dad at 11:00. I headed to the running shoe store. I have not done a great job picking out my own running shoes so I went to a specialty store for help. They were great. The owner of the store was there, he had a nice M-dot tattoo on his very nicely defined calf.

I had my gait analyzed. Then the girl that was helping me brought over 9 pairs of shoes for me to try on. It took awhile but I had it narrowed down to 2. I went with the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10. I got them for $105, but I'm a VIP member at Road Runner sports, so if I really like them I can get another pair for $89.00 + free shipping.

When I got home it was 53 beautiful degrees out. I got all my stuff together and I went on a bike ride. It was G R E A T!!!
I even added a small loop in the one area to put me at just over 22 miles. There was a little bit of wind, but I didn't mind it. It just felt SO good to be outside on my bike. It is supposed to be warm and sunny for the next 4 days so I plan on putting in a lot of miles then. The sinuses are still a bit stuffed, so I think I'll postpone swimming until the end of the week when it's raining and hoping the sinuses are cleared up by then.

Got home for the ride and did a little 2 mile run. Liked the shoes, legs were wobbly.

I just took a hot bath. Now I'm going to have a snack and take a short nap while the house is quiet.

YEAH!!!! Ann has turned the corner to Fantastic.  Sounds like a fabulous Saturday and there more than 36 hours ahead of you before Monday.   Enjoy!

Afternoon Ghoulies.  I ran 7 this morning.  I felt good but the knee was grumpy. I wound up walking alot down the hills.  Up hill is fine, but down hill kills my left knee.  It was slow as a result, but it is done.  Then took a quick shower, squeezed into the Zoot recovery tights (my new bff) and went to the salon to get highlights.  Something about the nearness of spring that made me want to lighten my hair.  Got an eyebrow wax while I was there and now feel all nice and girlie.
