kcarroll - 2010-06-07 11:52 AM Ok, back from hanging out in the parking lot.  Just a drill.  So, I need a day to recover from the weekend. Kansas City was loads of fun.  Tailgating and Royals game Friday night.  Tour of the new Performing Arts Center on Saturday morning.  We had to wear hard hats and my girl gang and I whistled at the construction workers.   Lunch with friends then a new brewery later that afternoon. Reception Saturday evening then off to another friends to hang out.  Drank way too much so this week is designated for liver recovery.  

Didn't make it out on Sunday to IM KS 70.3 unfortunately.  Too far away and had to catch an early afternoon flight. I stayed with a friend whose husband is a seriously competitive triathlete. Serious in that when he races he usually wins his AG and he qualified for nationals a couple years ago.  I cracked up though when I saw his bikes.  His training bike is almost 20 years old (gears on the downtube) and his race bike is an 8 yo roadie with clip-ons.  He bought them both 2nd hand and says he doesn't need anything more than his *engine.* Gotta love it.  The seat bag on the training bike is held together with duct tape.  My girlfriend keeps trying to buy him a new bike (they both retired very young and have no money issues) but he won't have any part of it.  I told her to feel free to buy me one instead if she just wants to go bike shopping.

It stings like a mother! Only 2 of the wounds are deep, one right on the back of my ankle and my shoe keeps rubbing it. I can't put a bandaid over it because the sticky part ends up right where the other deep one is.

I keep trying to clean them out, I don't think I got all the grease out yet, I still see some black, but that may be dried blood. 1 of the cuts is longer and looks like I did a bad job shaving my legs. You know the kind of cut you get when you take off the top layers of skin and they burn and bleed a lot, but aren't deep, that's what I got for one of them.

I have tan pants on and I normally wear dress socks to work, but today I have scuffy little socks on because the socks that come up higher were irritating.

I have decided that the shark bitten ankle is the last injury I will have this year. Yep, that was what I decided.

Sounds like you need a little nursing care cleaning and bandaging that wound.  Where is Amy?  I'm actually pretty good at these things, so yell if I need to swing by.   Seriously, if you haven't got the grease out make that your first priority when you get home.  And, hate to be a nudge but you have had a tetanus shot I hope.

I washed it out last night with Dawn dishwashing liquid, hoping to cut the grease.

My last tetanus shot was Jan 1, 2007, so I think I'm good, right?
