Yesterday I was reminded that the scale means NOTHING!  While shopping for a new pair of slacks for work I tried on my regular size 8; it was too big!  Have not lost a pound but went down another size!  Crazy but true...I have been training for two years and weigh exactly what I did when I started but my physique has changed.

Yea! We spring forward this weekend!  The sun will still be up when I get home which means running after work outside!  I am sooooo excited; must be the least fun person ever, because I am crazy happy about getting to Spring Forward.

LOL, my family said the same thing to me about the time change as I felt the same as you :-)

A friend of mine sent this youtube video to me a couple weeks ago and I laughed sooo hard when I watched it because I (along with most of us here) can relate to it!  Unfortunately at 30secs into it, the F bomb is dropped but that's the only time.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B03dFMG8nR4&sns=fb

That is a hilarious video and sooooo true.  People who do not do tri's either think you are amazing or crazy!

Had my first "real" outdoor bike ride yesterday. Rode 20 miles and felt good afterwards. I think the bike trainer class over winter helped a lot. Finally back to a normal schedule and getting ready to up my workouts.

Anyone else come close to running over squirrels? I must have just missed 10 of them, plus one groundhog!

I got the bike out for the first time since December yesterday. Didn't ride very hard, since I swam in the morning and had another swim scheduled for today. Felt really good to be back in the saddle, though. No squirrel near misses, but I'm sure they are coming.

Sorry, for the delay in my posts. The kid's are on spring break and I've been a little pre-occupied.

I'm loving the daylight hours after work. Who has had a chance to go out and ride and run in the sunshine? For me the ability to ride after work is the biggest help. I don't mind running in the dark, but I really don't like to ride in the dark.  Too many crazy people out there. Plus the sunshine does wonders for my attitude.

You're right 6 a.m. swims are tough, as is anything else at 6 a.m.

Overall though, it looks like spring is about to be sprung! Enjoy the sunshine and get out and get a good sweat on.

I'm not a big fan of them either, especially when it's 36 and windy.

Gotta love those Jackalopes! I am going on my first group ride tomorrow. I am hoping they don't go more than 30 miles. I am not sure what I can handle. I am bummed that the DC TRi in June was cancelled. that was the one I looked forward to since it was International distance. They could not get the necessary permits...Washington at work again! I will probably fill in with another Sprint and do a longer one in September.

***update*** The group ride went for 44 miles and hilly! My one and only other outdoor ride was last Monday for 19 miles so I am hurtin'...but it was fun!

All three of my St. Patty's day plans were a bust!  I had a 5K race planned for this morning but was up from 1:45 am until 7:00 am with tummy issues..don't ask.  So, though I felt ok was a bit concerned about jostling myself around on a run.  First year in who knows how many husband did not purchase the corn beef so dinner plan out the window and finally, planned to do the Wine walk in Reno but waaay too cold.  I did manage to get my swim in and caught a movie but not the same.

Did my first real brick of the season yesterday.  Awesome ride and run... roughly 8:15 per mile on the run after 27 mile ride.  Paid for it a little on this morning's 10 mile run, but it was worth every mile.  This tri thing is so much better than just running...

BTW, also took the plunge on a tri bike this weekend.  Found a great deal on a Felt S22.  Had to order my size, but should be here in a couple of weeks.  Now I'm one of the cool kids...

Still at the dork table for me... no tri bike or even aero bars!  Congrats on the bike and happy peddlin'!

Hey everyone, its been quiet on the board for a few days. I know it was a hectic start to the week for me. Doctor on Monday evening to get clearance to run. Tuesday swim, life got in the way on Wednesday (why don't we get paid for this?). I had a nice outdoor group ride on Saturday for 65 miles, but that seems so long ago. How is everyone else's week going?

I am trying to fit in workouts but I can't seem to get everything in when life is getting in the way. I feel like I have a fairly flexible schedule too. I don't know how some people do it. Trying to get in two workouts a day on most days is challenging especially when you ad weight lifting into the swim, bike, and run schedule. The weather is cooperating though. A couple 80 degree days in March in Maryland is pretty cool. Now if only I could afford to hire someone to do all my yard work and painting that I need to get done so I can get to the all important training!  I am taking a few days to visit parents in Florida next week so swimming and running will be easy to get in. Yes Chris, getting paid would be nice. Start adding up those hours!

Anyone else have a Timex Run Trainer? If so, what do you use most often for training?

Busy week for me although I did get a fair amount of training in. Mon - Swam/ran.  Tues - Spin class/weights.   Wednesday - Swam/ran.  Thursday - Spin.  Friday - Swim.  Saturday - Spin/Outdoor bike ride/run.  All in all it was a productive week.

Busy training week here, too. Finally broke the 2000 yard mark for a swim workout, plus four good runs. Only one actual ride, since I'm back on the road, but I did endure three stationary bike rides. Next week is an easy recovery week. I need it.
