BUSY! Weekend. Lots of driving and basketball games.

Morning Ann.  How did the kiddos do in their games this weekend?

Caleb's team is off to a great start! They're 3-1 right now after winning a very physical game on Saturday 24-27. They lost a tough game yesterday. I told Caleb if they played that team again on a different day they would win. The officiating was really bad.

Keri's team is not doing as well, they are 0-3. They have scored a total of 10 points so far this season. I'm not a fan of her coach, or his coaching style. Keri is a point guard, she can handle the ball well, and with confidence. He doesn't play her there. He has her as a guard, the same position as his daughter. I think he has Keri afraid to shoot. During practices she shoots when they scrimmage and he yells at her. He's very much "run the play, you have to run the play." Well when the plays get busted the girls don't know what to do and they turn over the ball. He pushes "The Play" so much that the girls will force a bad pass instead of taking a shot when they're open. On Saturday Keri, and her friend Hannah, who are 2 of his best players sat on the bench most of the time while his daughter played almost the entire game. The turned the ball over 8 times. When Keri did play she took a beating. She was on the floor fighting for a loose ball and got kicked in the arm, it was really red where she got kicked. Another time she had the ball and 3 players from the other team were fighting her for it, she got punched in the eye and a foul wasn't called. She wants to play though. Her leg would have to fall off for her to want to come out of the game. A mom, who has seen Keri play before, came to me after the game and asked why Keri wasnt' shooting. It's frustrating. GRRRRR

I finally got a few Christmas decorations up.  It is not a lot, but I like what I put out.  Maybe I will add a little bit more later this week.  At least it is nice to have the Christmas lights shining.

It is tough watching that sort of thing happen.  Good for you for being her support since she wants to stick it out.  That would be so tough to watch.

What's the weather calling for there? Any snow?

It is difficult to watch. She gives her all when she plays, and she's good, I wish the coach would just let her play. Encourage the kids to shoot and you'll score more than 5 points a game.

No snow.  At least not here in the flat lands.  Basically 40s and rain.  What about you?  Will you get a white Christmas?

Home in the afternoon and put up the outside decorations on the house.  I toned it down a bit this year but am happy with the effect.  Motorcycle holiday party Saturday night. 

Then on Sunday we worked around the house.  Still cleaning things up from the new furniture, etc.  Hubby and son got the basement all cleared out so that I have scheduled the carpets to get cleaned next Monday.  So this coming weekend I will need to get the carpets ready on the first floor for cleaning.  They will do the basement and the first floor.  The second floor will have to be done at another time.  We also went to an artist exhibit.  Hubby really liked one of the paintings, so I am going to check to see if I can get it for him for his birthday in April.  Not sure how much it is, but hope I can afford it.  Then we did some shopping.  Amazing how even though the xmas shopping is done, there is other stuff that we need to get so there we are out with all the xmas shoppers. 

Unless we get a cold spell, it's not looking white for us. Today is 68 with afternoon thunderstorms, tomorrow is 70. I think mid 50's the rest of the week. It's too warm for December.

Busy weekend!!  But sounds fun!  Good for you for doing the run.

Yeah, and I forgot to mention that while hubby and son were in the basement, I was upstairs finishing up the cookies in a jar for my staff.

She was getting the crud. I hope it didn't hit her too hard.

Yeah, that is never a good thing, but is even worse when trying to get ready for the holidays!

Busy busy busy! Tonight is the fourth grade Christmas concert. As soon as Caleb gets home from basketball he has to shower and eat and we are headed out the door for the concert. I got Keri a new dress to wear tonight. She wore a different one for their concert for the school today, she is saving the new one for tonight.
