It's still not good enough yet though! Off to a lecture by Alain Robert the Human Spider tonight, should be good! Edited by Quintillion 2013-03-09 4:25 AM |

Going to pick it up tomorrow after they transfer it to the store here in town and throw on the Keo MAX pedals i picked up too. wasn't the S3 or S5 i originally wanted, but i couldn't pass this one up because of the price. Congrats! That's awesome!
I love my CR-1. Still one of the better bikes I've ever ridden. thanks, picked it up today and it is awesome. ridiculously light compared to my aluminum felt road bike. got in a trainer session this evening, going to try to put in a run before my bar crawl tomorrow. also signed up for a st patties 5k next saturday today, haven't decided if im going to try and race it or just run it (entry was paid for by my employer). |

Member 275 Cleveland OH | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed Got in a 5k today, 21 mins exactly. We had our work Christmas get together last night, was interesting. I volunteered to DD so I was happy to get up early and go for a run. I am on vacation this week, so 9 days off.
I am going to my LBS tomorrow, made an appointment for noon to get my fitting and all that. Still not quite sure which bike I will get. Wanna see what fits better. The owner is the one doing the fitting and he has a S5 he is letting me test ride. I told him anything is going to feel better than my 1989 Cannondale Aluminum jobby. I will let ya know and post a pic for ya.

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed Swim, run, swim this weekend for me. I was having issues with one pair of goggles leaking and the other fogging up, so the longest I could go was 100 yards before I was blinded one way or the other, so I just worked on technique and whatnot. Put up some crazy fast times for me when I just let it all go. Some consecutive sub 1:30/100, which I was psyched about. Last week I've really been working on my breathing and I'm getting more comfortable in the water. Now with the time change it's time to get some runs in too. |

Member 275 Cleveland OH | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed Got my new Bike today, went in still thinking about the S5, got fitted and the Cervelo was definatly my best fit, So Instead of buying the S5 I chose to buy the S2 and Upgrade Wheels, to the Zipp 60 Clinchers, they are brand new and not even shipping out yet so i have to wait a few weeks to get them. so untill then I am riding the stock wheels. I am so happy that I was able to get this , also got new shoes, helmet, and Look pedals. And now I get to ride it all week. yippee

Off day for me today. I got in a long bike and a long swim (and a very short run) yesterday, along with date night, so I think I've earned a day off :P

Member 275 Cleveland OH | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed boo no riding, Rained all night, off and on all morning. Don't want to get my bike wet yet. Ran instead in the rain, I really like running in the rain! really exhilarating! Ran 8.65 miles in 1:02:00 did a out and back to work on my negative splits and I got it! 31:35 out and 30:20 back. I am still kinda bummed though that I am not able to ride. I thought it was supposed to be nice all week but surprise surprise the weather man was wrong again.
So I spent some time this morning looking for races to do and kind of laid out a ballpark for my wife. 4-20 5k at the Cleveland Zoo, more or less just to help raise money 4-21 Duathlon Hinckley Ohio, 5k run, 15 mile bike, 5k run (pretty hilly) and the loop is 3 mile so you are doing 5 laps with the bike
6-9 Oly Tri Ravenna Ohio
6-22 & 23 Relay around columbus my portion is about 19 miles 7-7 Oly Tri Milton Man, this is the one I did last year. (wanna beat my time) 8-4 Oly Tri Greater Cleveland Tri 9-2 Century Ride , found a local cycling group doing a free century ride on Labor Day, not supported but will provide maps. 10-13 Half Marathon Peninsula Ohio, on old Canal/towpath Then of course our Turkey trot on Thanksgiving as always our church puts on. I don't think that looks too bad for my 2nd year out. I still dont know if and when I want to move up to try a Half Ironman. I think I could do it just don't know when My better half is going to approve and how much I will actually be able to train for it.

I will post another pic once I get my Aero bars and new wheels on it. At the store I held up a pair of Zipp 404's and it looks sharp. |

Member 275 Cleveland OH | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed I have 3-4 different loops I like to do at my house to mix it up a little bit. If I do the same route back to back I just try to beat my last time, So also you can Race the clock on the same loop, or you could work on hill repeats, Negative Splits, or Fartleks. Just don't go too fast that you are going to hurt yourself. Don't run a 25 min 5k one day and the next try a 21 min 5k. It takes a long time to build speed up.

Member 275 Cleveland OH | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed Pretty crappy workout today, Went to gym Swam like 900 yds, just in one of those moods, wanna workout but just would rather sit on the couch and watch TV, cause I am on vacation after all. Did do 4x50 speed swims though, fastest was 47 sec then 49, 51, 50 so Thats not too bad Did some speed work on the track around the gym running just messed around. I challenge myself on the stair climber to climb 100 floors in less than 20 mins, I haven't missed it yet. Then ate 2 hot fudge sundaes and called it a night. Might be going riding on friday morning in the National Park up here, found someone on FB going so I might tag along with her. |

Expert 2192 Greenville, SC | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed eh better than me. hit them gym then did 20 minutes on my bike. i felt myself tweak a muscle in my lower leg monday at the gym when picking up a couple 80lb weights; pretty tight now. upside is my IT-band issue is pretty much gone; feeling only tender on the foam roller. i still have a 5k saturday and i'm not sure what condition i am going to be in to "race" it. a coworker of mine has been wanting to beat me in a race for some time now. he is looking to go sub 20 and i think he can do it, and i would give him a good race if i wasn't afraid of pushing back my 70.3 training. le sigh, looks like i will have to "settle" for the beer at the end of the race |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Leegoocrap & Newbz rowdy Mentor Group - Closed Been stupid busy lately but luckily training hasn't taken a back seat totally. Got a run in Monday, bike last night, maybe another run tonight. Life is crazy because the wife and I have decided to go the route of dual property owning. We have a townhouse that we've lived in for 6 years but with the kid growing at our rate (I'm 6'6", wife is 6'2") and life in general we'd like more room, so we found a house in a neighboring town that we love and plan to make an offer this weekend and then also put up the townhouse for rental. I've ran the numbers a million times and we're fine to do it financially, but to say we're not anxious, stressed, scared, etc, would be lying. I'm trying to digest having two mortgages, but the expected rent from the townhouse would pay for 95% of the mortgage, and I've done quite a few upgrades to the place and we know it will fetch what we're looking for. This also will mean my summer could take quite a hit in terms of having time for races and such with moving and whatnot, but I'm not even worried about that yet. I'm going to continue working out like I have been and let things sort themselves out. |
