The Queen of challenges must not fail to meet her goal. That's one of those cataclysmic events that could shred the fabric of reality as we know it--unleashing all sorts of horrible possibilities--including a world consumed by devoid of glitter

Eric, I corrected your post for you.... I'm sure this was what you MEANT to say!

And since I know you missed it so much:

Now that's the kind of posting that I'm used to from this crowd!  I hope everybody has a great weekend--what's on the workout plans?

Sat--30 mile ride with the wife and some tri friends

Sun--maybe a 2000yd swim

I'm out of the office all week next week teaching a class.  I'll have some access to the internet, but mostly at night so you guys try not to miss me too much.  I've got computrainer races on Mon night and Tues at lunch so that should be fun.

Since you're going to be offline so much next week, I'll have to load you up on glitter now.... Happy to oblige. (It's unlikely that I'll run out of glitter, so I try not to be stingy with it....)

Man, this group makes life so much better when you are sitting bored at home on a Friday night with nothing to do, no training to do, no one to entertain you and just feeling dull with life!  Thanks for the banter!  I love it!!!

And I wanna go surfing on those waves...that looks way fun!!!  But I would probably die...so that would be bad

Sitting at home on a Friday night.... Yep, that would be me!

But about the nothing to do.... I can send you some work, if you want! LOL

As for surfing (or skiing) -- I prefer my water warm and calm! Give me a nice Caribbean beach, and I'd be very happy! (Oooh, when are we leaving?)

Good for all of you to keep up the conversation.  Yesterday was a melt down for getting out but today I got in stretching, swimming and running.  I feel tired tonight but good.  The more I swim, the more respect I have for all of you.  I cannot get 100 done straight without my form and breathing going down the drain.  I do 25s and 50s and then take little rests to get my breathing under control.   I have learned how to recover while running, I cannot fathom how when swimming.

Pam, I hope your new books help.  I have been reading some and it is taking a while to sink in.  Managing the work and energy is a real science.

Dee, thanks for the "drive by" postings, they are always fun.

Eric, good job getting out there.   It's funny the two different versions of "Masters Swimming".  I live in a retirement community and "Masters Swimming" has a very different meaning.  I have hope in my group.  I would be totally lost in yours.

Thanks for all the inspirational notes.  I look forward to them each day.  I run and ride alone most of the time.  The notes help me feel like I have a team of supporters.  It makes a difference.

Emerson....sorry for the melt down...you just do not deserve those! I hope things are better now. Looks as though you are getting into the rythym of the swimming with the masters team. Way to commit! I just can't decide outdoor pool vs. indoor smaller and maybe to warm of a pool with gym membership. I love outdoors, but not during Feb, March...tends to have too much of a nip in the air! Hey I may also be coming your way....I will PM you...have a great evening/weekend!

Without a doubt swimming is by far the most challenging. That's, why I signed up for the swim challenge, I figured it would push me, after all other folks are counting on me to meet my goals. Enough rambling great job swimming "M" actually it does get easier. "impossible is nothing" Ali. Have great wknd. Mike

A calm warm beach with a tropical drink sounds good to me...isn't there some triathlon on a nice island where we can have a group meeting and say we are just doing a triathlon?   Surfing on BT on a Friday night is so much better than going out.

Pammy - it mean you are way "cool"!!!! I think instead of meeting on an island we should book a cruise together that hits some good ports like Key West and Nassau, Bahamas.... We could all meet! Probably not do-able is it. Oh well one can dream.

Julie - is very competitive...she is now trying to win the posting war!!!! Go girl!

Dee - You make things fun around here!

Eric - We will miss you next week, don't forget about us.

Amy - Wine tasting. Hhhhmmm, can I come?

Emerson - 21, I can't even imagine that at this point in time.

HAVE A THUMBS UP WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!!

Amy in IN it is sunny here today and going to hit 45....yippie!!!!

I sure hope not - 'cause those little stars are REALLY fickle.

Go here:
http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/statistics/user-listing.as...

Look at the right side, and you'll see the different colored stars and what they mean.

For example:
After 25 posts, you get a green star.
At 50 posts, you get a second green star.
At 75 posts, you get a third green star.
At 100 posts, you get a purple star -- but all your green stars go away!

So nope, the number of stars doesn't correlate to how cool we are.

Emerson, that's an awesome run.  I can't even imagine running that far, let alone as a training run.  13.1 is my limit so far.
