Lena, sorry, must have been guilt by association Laughing

As for the bike training plan, head on over to the Challenge forum and look for the Cycling challenge:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=273109&posts=137#M3836108

For me this program works best with trainer and one road ride a week.  This year Coach Jorge teamed up with BT and you can select his program and import into your logs (you can get it even if you are not a paid member).  There is a HR/RPE version and a version for power.  I got a used wired PT and am doing the Power version.   I think Fit is doing it also?  It will kick your tail but in a good way.  First two weeks are warm-up leading to the first test.

Lena,

I trained with Jorge's program last year and it helped my racing tramendously.  After completing the training the well was much deeper.  That's to say I was able to dig really deep down when fatigue set in.  I'm still new to long course racing but my oly's were much faster and I felt extremely confident on the bike leg.

As my strength on the bike improved, I became more comfortable in the saddle and down low.  Before the program I would accellerate and then coast.  My efforts were mountains and valleys.  I am now riding at consistant power output and much faster over the distance.

The plan is in the second week of 'Getting the body ready' for the work ahead.  Next week is the first of several 'dreaded' tests.

Come on Lena - it will be fun.  Wink

In Tempe - ready to rock. Bring it. As you know, I am doing Ironman Arizona this Sunday.  An Ironman is a long day but nothing compared to the battle of ALS.  I have a good friend from San Antonio whose son has ALS.  I joined Team Blazeman this year to raise money in conjunction with Ironman in his honor, also Jon Blais was an early inspiration for me to do an Ironman. Jon Blais completed the Ironman World Championship in Kona after being diagnosed with ALS.  Here is a bit of video about Jon:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Vrjp2P0GlE Here is the link for my Team Blazeman fundraising site:  http://www.active.com/donate/teamblazeman/blazemanreece
