Bill, very nice pics from Acadia. It sure is beautiful there.

Watch out for the guy in sunglasses though. I hear he watches babes play volleyball on the beach.

Okay, I'm heading off to a baseball game tonight. Frank got free tickets for the Braves, and I don't even know who they are playing. See ya!

Have fun!  I think just going to baseball games is usually pretty fun.  I like the atmosphere.

I have another pair with the 3D chamois and I really like them.  They are very comfortable.

Wow...they sold out quick.  Hopefully I get this package.  Last time I ordered, it didn't show up.  In two more days, they can file a lost package claim with the post office and either send me a new jacket (if they have it in stock) or refund the money.

That's where I got the crankset for Marie.  It was sort of amazing that I was looking around ebay for some deals and I just pulled up Chainlove.  There it was, Ultegra Hollowtech for some ridiculous price.  I've seen full frames on there before as well.

Time for another What Would Nibbs Do?

There's a half marathon in Richmond on 8/23.  It works out that I should be running that far for my marathon training that week anyway, so it would be good practice.  But, I need to finish in 3 hours, which is a 13:43 pace.  Last weekend, I did my long run at 13:40, but I probably could have walked a little less and ran a little more.

Do I sign up and take the chance that I might get pulled off the course or do I just run on my own that weekend?

I'm just an amateur at these things... but,

Do you think you'd run a little faster if there are others around you???

OR...

Is the race late enough in the morning that the heat might just do ya in???

Personally, I'll be doing my first OW Tri that day (knees are shaking)

I'll have to keep an eye out... lucky for me we have a PI outlet store up in Park City... Amy just went the other day and scored some gear...

Meanwhile, I REALLY want to score another pair of PI tri shorts.... I LOVE them...

I say do it if for no other reason than to just break up the monotony of training.  I've done this before and it is SWEET to have a fully supported long run.  If ya get pulled off course, eh... no biggie.  Let them take you back to the finish, stash some drinks and grub, go finish the distance by yourself, then hold your own post race party

1) Yes.  Plus, I won't have to carry 40 oz of water like I did this weekend since they'll have everything on the course

2) No. It's earlier than I would normally start and a race might motivate me to start earlier than normal.

Yeah, the having a supported course is what is most encouraging to do the race. Carrying around all the fluids gets kind of heavy and annoying to run with.

Day is done... going home to meet with concrete contractor.. YIPEE!!!!

Parting note of the day, that just made me giggle on the inside...

THere are these two guys that work out here regularly in the middle of the day.... I always joke with them about working out their mouths more than anything and harass them about just sitting on the equipment...

Today, as I was walking through (my office is in the middle of the fitness area away from all the other offices) he stopped me to ask why I was wearing my short shorts (workout shorts not office attire shorts)... as I explained that "yes" sometimes the fitness coordinator actually DOES lift weights...  He complimented me on my leg definition....  Either it was a true compliment or he realized that he had just made a sexist comment and was tryng to cover up... but either way, it made me feel good about myself

Hope everyone had a great Monday!!!!
