ha! One evening while sipping wine a friend of mine and I drew out a business plan for TeenTaxi. We would sell vouchers for single trip, weekly pass, and unlimited summer passes. I know at leat a dozen parents that would sign up. Our geographic boundaries/pick up/drop off locations were the high school, Dairy Queen, town pool and center of town. For an extra fee we would tell you what your kids talked about.

Family, as in bring the kids along?  I would say that its not really geared toward young kids. I saw quite a few people pulling their kids along in trailers, but I didn't see a lot kids riding.  As far as stuff to do, there was at least one overnight town with some carnival type rides/games that would appeal to younger ones.  There may have been more at stuff at the pass through towns, but I was usually actively seeking out the next bar so maybe I didn't notice.  I'll just say that I would take real young kids along in a trailer, but once they reach around 7 or 8 I probably wouldn't bring them due to the some of the stuff I saw/experienced along the way.

We did a team entrance.  Apparently it's easier to get chosen as a team.

The ride is as challenging as you make it.  Some people wake up early, bike hard straight to the next overnight town each day.  Or you can bike easy to each town, with an hour break in between if you want.  For me, I wanted to get a little semblance of training in so there were some stretches where I really pushed it.  Other times, like let's say when I was hungover and had yet to have a bloody mary and/or a breakfast burrito, I would cruise along and chat it up with people.  I think someone with your level of bike fitness would probably find the ride easy.  I know by the end of the week my legs were starting to feel a little dead, but there was never any doubt that I would be able to finish the day.

As far as fun goes, I was having a blast right up until the crash.  I'm not much of a social person, but it was neat to meet and interact with new people everyday.  That, and I like to drink so the whole party aspect was right up my alley.  It's something I'd like to continue to do every year.
