We have been pretty fortunate with the snowfall so far this year. Have not had to shovel, yet, but we also have not had many snow days either. Most of it has come down in 1-2 inch increments. I did have to clean out horse stalls tonight though. This sounds pretty sad, but I can really tell I have lost weight because my carhartt bibs that were really tight around the waist were loose and I had to tighten them up so the straps would not fall down and I just wore them last about a month ago.

On another note, it is the end of the month and that means we have to do our time trials again. How is this going to work?

BTW- Thanks to all who have offered words of congrats. I'm terrible at thanking people in a timely manner.

Good question.  I say between now and next Wed you can do the second TT.  I am going to set up the sheet, I swear.

Boston Beginner - 2010-12-31 7:21 AM

Good morning everyone.  So I am going to work on the challenge spreadsheet today.   What we will do is have 4 categories - Swim, Bike, Run, and Weight.  Over the next 3 months, pick 1 a month.  This way if you can do one thing or don't have a bike or access to a pool, you can still participate each month.  Durning the first couple of the days of the month, do a TT or weigh yourself.  Then at the end of the month, do the say thing.  The person with the biggest % gain, or weight loss in each category wins.  At the end, we will take the average of all 3 and there will be 1 big winner.  How does this sound?

Let's do -

5k for run

10 miles for bike

1000 yards for swim.

Dan N - You'll find the info on TTs above.

Didn't go swimming tonight.  I had work and other things going on as well as a temperature this evening.  Frown  I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday!

Good night!

Its Friday! Friday! Friday!!  So many different things to cover this morning!

- If anyone is interested in a RoadID, here's a coupon code for $1 off: ThanksMargo2335314

- Did a nice 5 mile run this AM at my fastest pace ever - 8:43. Wasn't a struggle, and I felt good the whole run. Looking forward to killing it on my TT 5k run next week.

- My first official real bike trainer ride was last night. Did 35 minutes split 50/50 between small ring & big ring while trying to maintain a 90 RPM cadence. Stayed in aero the whole time without any discomfort at all. Bike feels *fantastic*. I am so ready to get this thing on the road, but of course, we have 2000 feet of snow, so it may be a while.

- Cycle form question: I've read/been told many things about how the pedaling should feel. Often described as the same motion as trying to scrape mud off your shoe. So, at the bottom of the revolution, should my foot be parralel to the ground, with the heel flat?

- I turn the ripe old age of 44 tomorrow, and in celebration, I'm going to do a 44 minute swim, 44 minute bike, and a 44 minute run all in a row tomorrow AM at the gym

otisbrown - 2011-01-27 11:02 AM Here is a view of my street. Turns out with all the rain, we only got about 6-8 inches of snow.

Very nice!  Especially with the sun shinning through.  Smile

Good luck on the 3 x 44 Mike.

good luck on the Goal for tomorrow, have fun!

Looks like I am the old timer in the bunch! I hope you all can keep up?lolLaughing
Curt, you and I share the same birthday June 13th! Lucky number 13!

It sure was nice getting out for a 14mile bike ride in the nice 28deg. Can't decide if I should sit in the salon and wait for my wife and daughters to get their hair done or go for a long run tomorrow? Yea, I know that is a easy one, long run!

Have  a Great weekend!

I will post the video somewhere and let you know.

Happy Birthday Big Mike.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Nice job Dan.  Not bad for someone who didn't want to run in this weather.  I think biking is twice as worse than running.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Crazy week at work, haven't had time to check in here. Looking to do a bike ride Sunday, long run tomorrow. Good News: I'm almost back down to my pre-holiday weight (1lb away). Now comes the hard part, getting to my goal weight (14lbs away).

Well, this AM didn't quite go as I hoped, as I never heard my alarm clock, and woke up just in time to make it to my fitness 'bootcamp' class. C'est la vie.

Tomorrow is long run day and bike trainer ride

Thanks for the link to the bike video, Itzia!! It was exactly what I wanted to find out!
