New Haven, CT | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED kaburns1214 - 2011-01-16 3:07 PM Artist - 2011-01-16 2:40 PM Got my biking hour in on the trainer. I need to figure out if it the fit on my bike or my seat that is causing agaony at about the 45 min mark. If I could ride without pain, hitting the bike for long periods would actually be fun. I usually ride with I-pod but today I was watching the Bears play and I had to laugh- when they ran hard I pedaled much harder. Also got my replacement bike computer and installed it. I find that I can place the sensor where it is supposed to be and my mileage is back to where it used to be. I think because I had to modify where I stuck the carseye sensor I was cheating myself out of miles. This is my favorite saddle (and I can do 4+ hours on the trainer) : http://www.cobbcycling.com/cart/V-Flow_Plus_C1P3.cfm They have a fantastic return policy too. kelly - is that a woman specific saddle? what does shaun ride? |

Champion 5615 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED Weigh-in: 261.2 Target for next week is to see the 250s. In other news: I got my new training plan which charts my course to Rev3 in June. It starts at just under 11 hours/week and peaks at 16.5 hours during the last week of my Peak period. There is a lot of endurance work between now and the middle of April and my HR zones for endurance work is very low. I can't even comprehend what sort of run pace corresponds to a 115bpm range. 13's? No matter how slow it is, I can't walk it because I am supposed to maintain a high foot turnover. Edited by CubeFarmGopher 2011-01-17 6:23 AM |

Actually, I took off the Anteres and ride a Fizik Arione Tri saddle. It originally came on Kel's new bike and I swapped it out for mine after I put the Cobb on her bike. Expert 1121 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED I have a question regarding food intake. I eat pretty healthy, and pretty consistently, with the occassional slice of pizza, tough to get away from that. But I am pretty disciplined. In the morning, I typically start with a banana and a Chibani Greek Yogurt, most days. Today, after my work out (40 minutes on the trainer, 20 on the treadmill, 800 Calories burned, per the Garmin). Here was my food intake. Pre workout: Banana and a GU (total about 200 Calories) Post Workout: Protein Shake (Whey Protein, Banana, 1% milk, 1/2 TBS Peanut Butter) - 400 Calories Total about 600 Calories. I feel pretty full this morning, more so than usual. Your thoughts on if that is too much Edited by rizer22 2011-01-17 10:06 AM |

You'll be burning above your resting metabolic rate for a decent amount of time after the workout too. If you look to cut anywhere you could cut the PB and switch out the 1% for water or skim. I for one hate shakes w/ water, but some people I know have to cut dairy to lose weight consistently. |

I am not trying to lose weight at all, and I can't stand shakes with water either. The milk and banana make it so much better. It's almost like drinking a milkshake. I guess my question was more related to whether or not 600 calories for breakfast was too much at one sitting. But apparently not. By the way, I already feel hungry again., so you, of course, were exactly correct. Edited by rizer22 2011-01-17 10:05 AM |

Your body tends to better utilize the nutrients then as well. |

My cardio felt fine my body on the other hand kept reminding me that I was hauling around 40 extra lbs. My legs are pretty sore right now but if I get a second wind I'll try to hit the gym later. Your body tends to better utilize the nutrients then as well. ^^^ x 2. You really want to eat around workouts: (1) to fuel your body during the workout; and (2) to replace nutrients once your done. In the time period immediately post-work out you body is able to absorb and utilize nutrients to repair and rebuild your muscles better than any other period. Those calories almost don't "count" because of how the body uses them. |

After the first few weeks is when it gets harder. when you cant make the best food choice try and make a better one: instead of having ice cream, have a piece of dark chocolate. Instead of having cookies, go with my favoite, animal crackers (less surgar, some fiber if you get the right ones). The only thing I might do is more carb (and less protein pre-workout) and more protein post-work out. Too much protein pre-workout can lead to stomach issues especially as you increase intensity (ask Erica about this one). |

I have really cleaned up my eating and uped my activity levelo and see few results on the scale. I am looking better and people ask if I have lost but I have to say no. The last time I went to the Doc I nearly cried at the result, but my blood tests look good and so I may have to accept this weight thing. |
