kns57 - 2007-11-29 10:16 PM Good night all. I don't know if I'll check in next week before Thursday, but you all know I'll make up for being MIA. Thanks Cat! Twisnibbins will surfact again, I am sure. Say bye to everyone in nibbins notes. I will be missing all of you. Let Sal know I'll be looking for that picture.

Good luck Kendra!  (so that means I've got a week to work on the pic)...

Good morning to all of you early risers... Must be something in the water for us Nibbinses.
I was awake at 4:15, walked the dog, did my physical therapy stuff, on my third cup of coffee, time to hit the shower.

Happy Friday, all of you Nibbins!!

Nanny-nanny-boo-boo! You're going to have snow!

(I actually like snow...a little. It needs to snow once, so I know it is winter, and then go away, so that people don't drive like idiots...of course last year, our only snow came in April. )

Heck, even in MN, the first snow flushes out the idiots!

Tomorrow is our Reindeer Run 5k... and the snow should be arriving just in time to make it a fun race.  I actually love snow (can't wait to get out the XC skis)... I'm just glad that it has held off until 12/1.

'Morning, Sharon, Kristen and Sal who's out running. I miss snow. Seems like all we get here is ice. Although I am spoiled to having snow for just a day. Don't have to trudge through the black, sooty snow slush that piles up on the roads.

Morning, back atcha.

That's the truth...my in-laws are in MI (and get serious lake-effect snow)...they have the same nasty snow on the ground from atleast December-March. (Same thing in Chicago where we lived last, although not quite as much snow as MI and it would melt in a month & then we'd get more...).

I like pretty white snow. And that's all.

I used to live in northern Indiana so imagine my disbelief when they sent kids home from school because of a quarter of an inch snow accumulation!

Good morning back at you, Pam.

After growing up in Illinois and Wisconsin, I then spent eight years in Indiana and five in Georgia.  The first winter back in the north was both painful (brrrr) and delightful.  I finally understood why the Eskimos have so many different words for "snow".

I must admit that living in GA really spoiled me... only scraped my car windows once/year, and taunted friends and family who lived in the great white north.

Yeah it is nice to be able to go out and get the mail without three layers of clothing and snow boots. Oh and no "Who's turn is it to shovel the driveway?"

First thing my hubby did when I took the job in VA was to put our snowblower up for sale on Craigslist!

One of my colleagues - a sweet Georgia boy - thought that the snowblower of another colleague was used for removing leaves... LOL!

Okay, I'll give you that one about getting the mail... I HATE to bundle up to take the dog out for a walk if she needs an anomalous "midnight walk".

But, I'm kind of weird... I view shoveling / using the snowblower as a grown up's excuse for going out to play in the snow... I LOVE it!

(okay, weird... I even loved it as a kid)

Shoveling is more work than fun for me. But then again, I haven't had to do it for a very long time. I've got to get ready for work. Y'all have a great Friday!

Snow on mountains = pretty.

Snow in everyday life = sucks

Growing up in Des Moines, we never really had enough snow to learn to enjoy winter. We'd usually get a dirty, icy blanket of 6" that would half melt, then it would cloud up, the wind would blow out of the NW for weeks and it would drop below zero. That's not winter, that's punishment.

See, the first seven years of my life were in the outskirts of the Moline, IL area... great snow: snow forts, sledding,  "snow dogs/horses/men", ice-skating, etc... snow=fun.  But, you are right, metro-area snow, after many cars and trucks have driven on it = yucky.

(I tend to be a glass-is-half-full kind of person... overlooking the gross mushy snow
