I'm game (as long as I don't have to get wet Tongue out)

I should have a little more run and bike volume next week, then a recovery/taper?? week going into my 10k on March 22. I'd even include the strength in the schedule - that has always been the easiest to push out - like tonight, pushed it back to tomorrow....

My wife just got off the phone with one of her aunts.  They are talking about a family reunion late June/early July of 2009 in Newport Washington.  For some of the activities, they said they could go to the water parks in Couer d'Alene.  That got me thinking, Hey, I could be on sight and register for 2010.  I threw that idea out and my wife really liked it.  INTRIGUINGSurprised!!!

Oh, and she also panned my next idea - try and register on-line in 08 and race the 2009 as part of the trip.  oh well Cry

I'm also in for Mimi's March Madness Mini-Challenge. And I NEED TO INCLUDE strength in that, since I, too, find that part so easy to procrastinate on......perhaps it's cause I don't get that immediate cardio buzz I love so much.....

I was not a good push-up girl last week, but yesterday I was spot on. And did some strength last night.

Okay- off to the gym for 39 minute run (I know Mimi likes when I say that ), lat pull downs and some abs. Can't use the dreadmill here in early am cause I have to blast the tv too loud to hear it!

Okay. Weight is back down to 149.6. I need to stop the fluctuating between 152 and 148- I hit the high after my day off and then as my training week progresses I shed it again. And look at me- I'm not logging my nutrition choices any more. That must STOP. Gonna start again today.

I'm in for the challenge as well.

The weather can’t be bad all Martz, right now the sun is out, but it’s still very windy. And the forecast says mucho wind for the next 6 days.

I NEED to get my run in. This afternoon it’s speed training, 6 x 840m.

And I just ordered a new tri bike today, but don’t know if they can deliver before my race April 6.

I decided for an Argon18 E-112.

In the words of Paris Hilton, Hans:  "THAT'S HOT!!!!"  wow.  gorgeous bike

So we start the challenge on monday?  If you have strength in your plan, definitely include it...we should also include a minimum for stretching - like 10 minutes a day or something.  Anybody good at organizing numbers on a spreadsheet?  I suck at it, so we can either keep track here, of just be honest in our logs.  Step up if you are an excel wizard.

Scott- I have family in Coeur d'Alene, so I"ve considered doing that one!!  It's soooo pretty there.  2010?  hmmmmm, maybe I'll join you!  We'll see.  I'm going to milk IMFL next year to see if I can beat my time, then move on...cda and lake placid would be top 2 picks.

I want my BT friends to come do Lake Placid- big margarita party by my pool !!!!

I stink at spread sheets. But I think by the weekend everyone in the challenge ought to specifically post what they are committing to so at the challenge's end we can then post next to it what we did do (like Scott posts each week)

Hans, sweet bike.  I hope you got the shipping information on that right.   The address is Lakewood Colorado USA

Amy, I have been considering Lake Placid for sometime in the future - my wife has family in Clifton Park (north of Albany) and that would be a fun trip.

To everyone on the challenge, I could do the spreadsheet, throw out some ideas of what you would like.

I'm no wizard at Excel, but I've made a small spreadsheet that keeps track of: Planned Hrs:Min, Actual Hrs:Min, Percentage of planned, Missing Hrs:Min and changes the colour when you reach your goal

Small and easy to use, just enter your goal, your planned and actual hours/minutes and it'll do the rest.

BUT!!!! It's made in a Danish version of Excel so I don't know if it'll work on an English version. And how do we share it? I can mail it to you all, if you like. Just send me a mail on: hje(A)ddtech.dk (Remember to change the (A) to @)

I have up loaded a picture of the spreadsheet in my album

Your husband owns a Mexican restaurant? I can't believe you are able to lose any weight!! I'd blow up, btw margaritas (my fave drink)n and guacamoele (my fave condiment) I'd be drunk and fat all the time!

I'm considering volunteering at Placid this year, its the week after Mussleman.

I, too, love guac very, very much.  Thankfully, we are not in the habit of bringing a lot of it home, so it is more of a treat when I do go there-- and I am busy enough that I don't go there all that much.   Maybe 2x a month, believe it or not. And since I am usually with my kids, I don't end up drinking any margaritas-- which is good for me on many accounts, since that's just basically a big-a** glass of sugar!!!

Yes, yes, come volunteer for Iron Man!!!! We can work out together!! I've volunteered a few times, but I sorta prefer just roaming the course all day and looking for people I know to cheer them on. This year, since I will be in good biking  shape (how do you like THAT positive thinking ?) perhaps I will ride the bike course that day (just once, NOT twice )

Hans - that spreadsheet looks easy enough for ME to use...sending you my email.  THANKS!  Did we decide?  Starting Monday the 10th?  For those in recovery week, you can say you won't do MORE than what's on your plan...sometimes it's hard to rest

A pool AND a mexican resturant in Lake Placid, NY. I don't think there's a single private outdoor pool in our entire county. Don't get me started on Mexican food. Ours is bad, bad, bad.

How could yours be bad?

But then, some of the best Mexican food we've had was in Southern Connecticut -- all the "ex-pat" Southwesterners would go there.  I think we've gone for Mexican once in the 5 years we've been back in Tucson.

I'm from Texas. Compared to there, ski town mexican food is awful.

I avoid hills this time of year   Lesson learned from last year.  I need more miles in the legs before I start taking this clydesdale body uphill.  Hope to get about 300 miles this month and then think about kicking it UP.

I've been doing the same, riding indoors on constant resistance and a few times on a flat course in Denver. It's so different than riding up here. I have a 400' descent in a mile to get to our bike path. Then a nine mile 1000' descent to Frisco. Then a 12 mile climb up Vail Pass. It's all up or down and almost nothing flat.

Ah!  'nuff said.  I'm from New Mexico originally.  Darn good Mexican food there, too.  Not that Tucson is a slacker, but the difference between Chihuahan and Sonoran is just enough to be noticable.  (It's impossible to get a sopapilla here!)

I've got you all beat on Mexican being in San Antonio!!   I will make sure that I take Bob to my favorite place when he comes to town.  Offer is open to anyone else that heads this way too.

Amy, it's too bad you can't sign other people up for IM's since LP is so hard to get in to.  There's a thread right now talking about LP will probably be the first NA IM to go for all on-site registration.  Ugh!

Busy weekend...Hope everyone can fit it all in.

Well, keep this in mind, IM Friends-- each December we go to a huge childrens' benefit Christmas party at an Inn here- and there is always an entry up for auction-- come the first Thursday in December, anyone interested in that spot should let me know-- and I can bid on THAT for ya!

Cause  my husband will knock me over if I say I want it-- maybe when the kids get older- and I've got a whole lot more swimming under my belt.

Of course- I am now trying to talk Kim into coming here IM Sunday to ride the course with me-- (in the opposite direction, of course) so maybe you peeps SHOULD come, we can have a Team MimiR98 Ride and sign u in person for IM 2009 !!!! I may b*tch and moan about out our spring weather-- BUT OUR SUMMER WEATHER IS SECOND TO NONE!!!

Maybe be up for the auction in a couple of years.  Riding would be a kick this year BUT

No travels for my wife and I around that time - unless it is to the maternity ward.
