Way to go Bryan...I already told you that you are amazing but I'm telling you again!  You are amazing!

I will be the cheerleader for the days of Christmas challenge!  I'm doing the spinervals 32 day challenge and it is kicking my a$$!  That is a good thing!  I need it bad!  My bike is a pretty nice bike but my engine totally sux!  So I'm working on that!

I'm posting my workouts elsewhere for the challenge but I'll try to start logging them on here again...maybe....also I know I never posted my Louisville IM report and I also owe a Florida IM report where I ended up with a big fat DNF!!

I'm also doing a 50k trail run Dec. 17th.  That will be interesting.  LOL

Billy.....your grandson is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be around more...I was hiding out.

Lena...that reminds me ....I have P90X...hope to get to it soon just not this month!

Hi Guys, Here's another finish line for 2011.  Finished the 'Kent Christmas Rush' yesterday in a time of 48:11.  I came in within 11 seconds of my goal time and thats freaky fast.  My heart was pounding the whole raindeer day.  Can't say exactly what my heart rate was because I lost the strap to my HRM.  Anyone have any extra Garmin strap out there?

Congrats to everyone on an awesome year of racing, training, and living your dreams.

Lyoshka - 2011-12-03 9:32 AM John, that is so cool to see another P90X folk I'm on my second round of P90X right now and anxiously awaiting the arrival of P90X2 on my doorstep. Doing P90X right now as a filler before P90X2 (since it'll only be about 3-4 weeks) .. are you on BeachBody boards at all? I'm a coach (though pretty inactive until now) and am in the process of starting an accountability thread for any BB programs, but with a running/tri emphasis. There are so many threads available, but I think it'd be nice to have a thread for P90X (and other BB programs) people who are runners and triathletes.. Would love for you join us! I'll post the link here once i get it all set up, if you are interested..

 Let me know when you are ready!

 LRR.. I have been scanning the archives and have found answers already - thanks

You can start the 12 Days Challenge on the 13th or 14th depending on if you want to finish on the 24th or 25th. Day one is a one minute plank. Remember the activities build and pile on one another. For example day one is a one minute plank. Do a one minute plank. Whatever you want to do is fine. Day two is a two mile run. So you run two miles and do a one minute plank. Then when you get day three you will be doing all three exercises. Get it? Good.

Jeff - google it but simply get in a push up position but rest on your elbows vs your palms. Seems easy becomes tough.

So day 3 will be 3 x 3 Squats. We are ramping up a bit from last year. Day 4 is 4 x 4 lunges. So that builds nicely. And after those lunges, enjoy your run.

Hey all!

Billy, bummer about the shin splints, hope you heal quick.  I am still doing the workouts except yesterday was a SRD so I did a 20 min walk instead of a run.

Lena, warm enough?

Day 5 will be 5 min of stretching. (more than I usually do which is bad - stretch more). Day 6 is a tough one for me - it is 6 minutes of one leg balance. So - stand on one foot or the other for 6 total balancing minutes. Hint - keep your other foot close to the floor. Happy happy Ho Ho

So i have to apologize for not following the challenge, I really meant to, though I should have known better... my oldest turned 6 last week, and I'm a baker when it comes to the boys' birthdays, so well... I haven't seen much daylight in the past week and a half.. I should have known it'd get crazy busy, it always does, but somehow I thought this time would be different. Right. Naivete.

Anyhoooooooo...... I AM back, Nikita's party is today and after that, I can start running again. ALso, starting P90X2 tomorrow! whohoo!
If you are curious, here's my reason for challenge absence (even if you are not, you are stuck reading this post hehhehhee)... it sort of felt like a baking equivalent of an Ironman lol:

about 90 of these puppies:

about 80 of these:

And his cake:

We will have 19-20 kids at his party, but i wanted to have enough for the parents, too, so I think everybody will have a slight sugar overload today.

  • ....and this Ironman Event was like this:
  • SWIM-cupcakes-no problem, we can get through this;
    BIKE- most definitely cake: CRAP, I have no idea if I can make it till the end without blowing this whole thing somewhere half way, because I've never done this particular cake;
    RUN-Cookies... this will take forever, but I know I can get through them eventually hehehhehe

    elcaminobill - 2011-12-17 5:01 AM Sweet, whats her name?

    Her name is Maxine.

    She is a 2011 Trek Speed Concept 7.0 Tribike, Carbon frame, seatpost and wheels.  I swapped the wheels off of Rinny my 2009 Cervelo S1 RoadBike.  It was either Maxine or another Cervelo.  Both bikes fit but I felt she was more areo than the p2c, nice features on the trek like the areo seatpost box instead of a clunky bag under the seat, a stock cassette that came in one of my favorite gear combinations 11-28 (spin up hills in the 28, rocket down in the 11) and I really liked how the speed and cadence sensors are embedded inside the chain stay instead of being wire tied on top of the chain stay.  She has more design considerations that are in top end bikes, such as a hidden rear breaking system.  Best of all, the year end price was $600 less than the best price I could find on the p2c.

    Cheers
