Ha. Good one Kelly. Grandparents are good for spoiling the heck out of your child, giving them whatever they want at Xmas, feeding them all the sugar in the world, then sending them home. |

Simple. We won't be taking the trips once we have kids.
I've told Kel that I will indulge this opportunity for another year but if she gets pregnant, she's going back to being an "experience participant" and not a "racer." She can still be racer. She'll probably just have to race closer to home. Thank you! |

I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding and the bride wants a Jack and Jill. While she is only inviting 100 people to her wedding, she wants us to invite about 200 people to her Jack and Jill. In my mind this is a big no-no (you only invite people to pre-wedding events who are also invited to the wedding). Am I off base? Thoughts? Edited by kaburns1214 2011-11-15 2:41 PM |

Its like a stag but for guys and girls. People buy tickets to attend (for like $25) and then buy raffle tickets at the event. The cash goes to the bride and groom. Its pretty much a wedding fundraiser for the couple. |

If I'm invited to a party (disguised as a fundraiser) for a wedding, I would expect to be invited to the wedding. That's a little weird. |

I agree with Karen and Jen. That doesn't sound right. If I am invited to something pre-wedding, then I expect to be invited to the wedding. I think Ms. Etiquette would disagree with that plan. Is the maid of honor planning this or the entire wedding party? Just recently at work, one of the technicians got married and the cut off for the wedding (and pre-wedding festivites) caused quite a rift. She invited only some of the doctors and some of the lay staff. The doctors not invited certainly wondered why, but then realized quickly they didn't need to buy any gifts! It cost me $100 and I didn't go to the wedding that was 8 hours away. |

One issue I have with it is there is no cardio for 4 weeks - not sure how I will do that. I have been wanting to add more weights to my workouts and need a structured approach - this sort of seems like one. Also, gives advice on what to eat as well. The results on facebook look pretty good too. I like to follow programs and don't really have one after my HM on Sunday. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-eason-livefit-trainer.html

We have tons of half around here from March onward. If you want to make a trip out in March, there is a rather hellish 1/2 that fills in about 30 minutes in Dec. I can't do that one yet, way too hilly (actual hills) |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2011 Part 2 - CLOSED I have never heard of that either, but sounds wrong to me. This is just my opinion, but really weddings and all the lavish gifts and money were really meant for younger people getting married who don't have anything. Like 18 year olds when our parents got married with nothing and just moving out of their parents for the first time. These days, most are out on their own and the wedding is really just a party ... not as much for the gifts, although they come too. |

It is alot of cardio and plyometrics. Either than or P90x, just to changed things up. There are tons of good feedback on these, and I know people who have done them and had great results. |

I end up yelling at her to "go away" but that isnt good parenting. The 8 year old will at least go do the computer. |

You are not off base (BTW, is this your friend whose getting married in July?) I would say you cant plan a party for 200 people but would be happy to throw her a bachlorette party for a few friends. |

I end up yelling at her to "go away" but that isnt good parenting. The 8 year old will at least go do the computer. Yeah, I understand. We have a 2 sided basement. The one half is my training room / the laundry room, and the other half is a huuuuge playroom for the kids. All of their toys are in there. We put a nice flat screen in there, too, and Conrad will just turn on the Wii at 5:00 a.m., and he and Gordie will play until I'm done working out. That's not the greatest parenting either, but I figure I wouldn't be entertaining them at that hour anyway, even if I weren't working out, so they'd better find something to do. I made a small section of my training room a play area for Freddy (20 mos.). For some reason he's an awesome at entertaining himself (unlike the others), and he'll sit there and run his cars on the floor for a half hour. I put all of his favorites in this area - car garage, cars, figures, etc. Works ok for a little while. It will get easier when they're all teenagers; right? LOL |

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-easons-livefit-phase-1.html I've met Jamie. Nice woman and obscenely gorgeous. Typically goes for tatted up biker guys, go figure. Anyway, it's a solid program if what you're looking for is a base level of fitness. It appears to be designed for the couch potato which is why it would recommend no cardio. They (she) feel that either you're going to need the time to recover or you're going to push too hard, get sore, and quit. |
