Last night's soccer practice wasn't too bad. I only had 6 of my 9 girls, but I knew 2 of them wouldn't be there.

We practiced for an hour. I worked them hard. At 7:00 I told them practice was over but I would be hanging around for awhile if anyone wanted to stay and shoot on the goal, or whatever. The girls hung around. I was the goalie, and the girls were taking shots. Some of the better ones I would challenge, they aren't going to have time to stand there and wind up in a game. The others I just let shoot. I had a dad who was chasing balls for me if they missed. The girls were having fun. We started kicking the balls out so they would have to run a little bit to get them. I had another dad come over and he got in the goal with me. He started punting the balls to the other end of the field. If you scored, you'd get your ball back. If you missed, or we blocked your shot, you had to run. They stayed and played like this for half an hour after practice was over. I could see improvement in a few of them just over that half hour.

When they were done I packed up my gear and headed over to my husband's practice. They were done, but the boys were playing a game they like. I played, too. It was after 8:00 until we left the soccer fields, and the only reason we left then was because there were storms coming and we wanted to get home before it rained since we had soccer gear in the back of the truck.

It was a pretty good night.

Last weekend I met my sister at a very large mall in Maryland. We spent 6 hours shopping. I spent SEVERAL hundred dollars. I only bought 9 pairs of socks.

They were all light/mid weight hiking socks, too. I should have gotten a few pairs of running socks.

Quiet in the village today! Must be Friday.

Robin--there's a lot of that sentiment going on at my house, too. maybe we should just head down to key west. Irene's skirts should have passed by there by now, for sure. 

Ann--no running socks? Definitely the cause of the quake.

Kim-wfh day! Yay! Hope your errands were fantabulous and you commute home after work stress free (how could i tnot be--on the couch, glass of wine in hand...)

Had a wonderful time last night running away. Went to the ball game with some good friends and some new friiends. Minor league games are a hoot. Fantastic people watching. Not to mention there were a couple of home runs and the home team won.

I am supposed to be racing right now.

Good morning Ghoulies! What a night!!!

Yesterday afternoon I went over to a friend's house, we were going to dinner. Normally I would have hung out there for awhile, but after dinner I said I wanted to get home before things got bad, it's about a 45 minute drive. I pulled in my driveway at 8:00 on the nose. It was just drizzling so I grabbed the dogs and took them for a walk quick, not knowing when we'd get a chance again. When I got back in the house I was soaked, the rain had started.

We had lots of rain and wind overnight. I spent most of the night in my son's room, he was scared. My daughter not only slept right through it, she slept in until 7:30 this morning. The power has gone out a few times, but just for a few seconds. The dogs thought they wanted out at 6:30 this morning, but when my husband opened the door they quickly changed their minds. It slowed down enough that I was able to take them down at 8:00 this morning. Some branches down, I cleared some off the road this morning while I was out with the dogs. A tree is down in a field across the road. The down spout on the one corner of our house is now loose, other than that we are good.

My sister lives down in MD, just off the Chesapeake Bay. They have water in their living room. Trees and branches are down all around, but nothing hit the house or their cars. They have been without power since last evening.

I sent Kim a text this morning to check on her. She is without power, but she has wine so I think she should be good.

That's about it for now. I've got a soccer meeting this afternoon so no nap for me.

It's Monday. My day off but I am working a bit scheduling huricane relief duty. I maybe headed east later this week. We will see.

I am off today and tomorrow so I will be in and out of THE VILLAGE.

My sister is 36+ hours without power, so they can't shop vac the water out of their living room.

Kim is still without power, too. PBJ and Cabernet for dinner last night.

We are good here. We have power but there are 100,000+ without power here in south central PA.

I finally got my bike fit done on Saturday morning. I couldn't do it when I had it scheduled before because I didn't have the saddle I was waiting on. Some minor tweaks, but the biggest was going from the 100mm stem I had on to a 75mm stem. I don't feel so stretched out now. They told me to take it out and ride it and bring it back and we could tweak some more if it didn't feel right.

We talked about removing the spacers and dropping the handle bars down, but I'm not sure my back would be happy about that. Maybe I'll try it this winter when I'm doing trainer rides.

Glad you are good there, but that just sucks about your sis. She has had a bunch on her plate lately!
