Well done everyone who raced. I'll eagerly read the reports after posting this!

Emily thanks so much for the ideas about the running plan. I've just set myself up a spreadsheet up to my last Tri this year and after then I'll reflect on what I need to work on over the winter. It's really helpful to have a heads up on what to increase and when.

Brian I am addicted to diving and haven't managed to get much in with the Master course I'm doing but hopefully that will change now it's finished. If you fancy it then I'd strongly encourage you to give it a go. It's great.

Man oh man.

Nothing like good friends, tennis, beer, Italian food and playing doubles with an absolutely beautiful single woman. She runs and rides too. BONUS.

Okay, I'll calm down now. Whew.

Mmm...beer. I'm going to have beer this weekend in VA Beach. Not that I need to go to VA Beach to drink beer, but since I rarely do and it's vacation, I will allow myself one

Talking of beer. I've recently found a new supply of Michelob Ultra. It supposed to be low calorie but not as far as weight watchers are concerned. Do you ever choose your drinks according to the calories or is it just the taste?

I always go by taste - but I drink very little these days so when I do I want something frothy and delicious!  I'm personally a big fan of Spaten Optmator.  yum.

Got to watch some criterium racing (short, ~1 mile course) racing tonight, Cat3 and Pro. Holy carp those guys are fast.

One of my riding buddies wants to work toward racing in the Cat 4/5 crits next year. I told him he was stupid, but we'll see, he's gotten a lot stronger in the past year, so who knows...

Other than that, Norcross, GA has a nice downtown area. Good beer, too.

Autocross yesterday morning (8:30-1), friends came in town for the 311/Snoop Dogg show last night, it ROCKED. Got back home 'round midnight.

Today is recovery. Might take a spin on the bike if I feel like it and it doesn't rain.

Hello Le Group ... just wanted to pop by and catch up with y'all ... get my triathlon fix. ;-)

Things are still ticking along for me, slowly but surely I am moving forward. The business is getting more attention every day, and I'm definately getting a lot more comfortable in my new civilian business owner role. I like it, actually. I like it here. ;-)

The fun news is that I started teaching bootcamp! FUN! I honestly can't believe I get paid to do this. I took the job on the side, just to help with the bills (that never seem to stop) but it turns out that it's a blast and I absolutely love it. But it's a blessing in disguise that I'm not doing triathlon this year - there's no way I could handle bootcamp AND tri training - it would literally kill me! But my boss is contemplating starting a triathlon bootcamp for next season - and you know I'll be in there like greased owl snot! I can't wait.

You all sound like you are doing well ... racing, staying healthy, happy for the most part ... keep up the good work!

t

I feel like I'm one step closer to being a real cyclist...had to change a tube on my rear tire halfway thru a ride today.  Tube successfully changed and tire reinstalled.  I did, however, manage to foul up the rear derailleur a bit - switching gears to the smaller cogs isn't smooth anymore.  Hopefully just need to do some minor adjustments to get her running smoothly again.

Yeah, it can be pretty easy to knock the rear derailleur a little out of whack, especailly when dealing with a flat on the side of the road.

If/when you take it to the LBS for adjustment, get them to let you watch how to use the barrel adjuster to fine tune your shifting. It's not as difficult as you think, but it certainly helps to know what's going on back there.

It's about a month long wait to get an appointment for repair - we only have one LBS in town.  Maybe in the winter I'll be able to get in there and see if they'll give me some hands on training but for now I found some good info - with pics - on making adjustments.  We'll see just how mechanically inclined I actually am!

Holy carp. We have one LBS, and anything outside 3 days and we're raising cain. We can get same-day if we ask for it, though it helps to know the owner and mechs...

Check out www.sheldonbrown.com for some EXCELLENT DIY tutorials. Excellent info on that site. If that doesn't work, I could probably walk you through it on aim or something.

Speaking of, I need to get busy building up my new ride.

I have yet to have to change a flat - knock on SERIOUS wood. I'm sure I could do it, but it would probably take forever.

I prefer to drink after I'm done riding...I can't seem to find a beer bottle that fits the water bottle cage.

Happy Friday!

Happy Monday, folks.

How's everyone's week looking?  I start my half-marathon training this week.  I should probably go ahead and register for the race...I'd hate to do all the training and then have the thing be sold out.

I took about 3 weeks off after my last race. No real reason. That ended yesterday.

I have the GA State USTA Tournament in 2 weekends, a sprint the 21st of September, a 3-Gap 50-mile mountain ride 9/28, and a sprint the next weekend.

Time to get back on the wagon.

Oh, and soccer starts up some time in September. PUMPED UP about that.

Hopefully better, now that I have gotten some furniture in and have moved all my stuff upstairs.

Moving upstairs in the same apartment or a new apartment in the same building?

I'm so happy we were able to buy a house a few years ago.  I was sick to death of moving every couple of years.  I remember one year during my college tenure my roommate and I moved from the dorms to a three month summer sublease.  Then at the end of the three months we moved again to the apartment we leased for the following school year.  ugh.
