YAY! haha ok the ipod doesnt go in your shoe... I havent used the Nike+ thing but the way it works is you put something in your shoe and it measures you distance and stuff... like a GPS type thingy for running I think... I see they have just brought out an intergrated sports band thingy too which is basically a HRM for the ipod... since I just ogt a HRM Im not really interested in that but anything that would get me out walking has to be a good idea! |

Master 1548 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) tlnewman30 - 2008-09-01 4:37 AM Alright, tomorrow starts this challenge at last. I am beginning the month with a Ten mile race, which I am planning on turning into a 16 mile training run. I figure I don't want to overdue the runnning right before my first Tri, which is Sun next week, so I am not going to do the 10 miles and then the 16 a few days later just before the Tri. Don't wory though, because the 10 mile race wasn't included into my goals for the month. Come to think of it, neither was the Tri, so added bonus. Let the motivational techniques begin. I am counting on Dee and Mila to keep the team going, I hate losing challenges!!! Wow! Thats a long way!!! Have fun |

A HA!!!! Now I know what you're talking about! I think I saw that Nike foot pod thing for sale at Foot Locker. Sef has a Polar HRM that comes with a foot pod too so I guess its a similar thing. I think its fairly accurate but not 100% like a GPS would be. Google Earth is good enough for me when I need to work out distance!! |

Well actually its still Sunday night here so the challenge doesn't start until tomorrow, but I just wanted to let you all know that my old swim coach just got back to me and I'm all set to go for swim squad tomorrow morning, bright and early at 5.45am. I'm going to be visualising pink sparkly tasers all night to "motivate" me to jump in that pool!!! *LOL* See you on the other side ... That's great news; enjoy the swim. And when that cold pool water seems uncomfortable, think about how much better it is than the whips and tasers floating around here (no matter how pink or sparkley). Cattle prods work particularly well in water. Swim fast so that you don't get zapped. |

Extreme Veteran 377 Western, Mass | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Hey all. Getting the workouts in, is always easier when you don't have to go it alone. Went for a ride today with a friend, and the route that used to take me about 75 min, took +2 hours. I have really procrastinated way too much these past couple of years. I am tired of being a lump, i am here, to make sure i follow through. Kevin |

Kevin Dear Kevin, Being "alone" is no longer a problem for you. During the next 30 days, you will NEVER be alone. Your WCPT teammates will be thinking of you constantly - and will be ready to "motivate" you should you start to fall behind your goals. You may not count "whipping" or "cattle prodding" or "tasering" as your third goal. Um, how about..... stretching? Or dancing? Or you could just do a generic "Other" with a time or session goal. |

OK, I can understand why she can't count cattle prodding or tasering, cause well, you know, that's not all that strenuous... but frankly I think whipping deserves its own special place in the "sports" choices!
