Master 1726 Sacramento, California | Subject: RE: X-Men ebshot - 2009-04-22 9:05 AM skrtrnr - 2009-04-22 8:43 AM ^^^^ it always feels good to feel good goin' into a race, doesnt it? im picking up my 'pimped out' bike today. corey called to tell us our bikes were finished. im so anxious to get on and ride. corey put on road tires (i have performance hybrid) ive been told they make a big difference in the ride/speed. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS TO THEIR NON-ROAD BIKE?? just curious what your experience was? i have an itty bitty run today, that im actually considering blowing off. im thinking its not necessary what w the brick im doing. i may take today off, do my long brick tomorrow - BIKE TO RUN - work it out on my new swifty tires and then call it a week. im just not sure on what to do the two days before my race. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? i know i dont want to do much, but im not certain i want to take the two days completely OFF. WHAT DO YOU ALL FIND BEST TO DO THE TWO DAYS BEFORE A RACE? stacieb No advice on the bike but I am sure you will pick up some speed with road tires. I would do the run today and a small brick tomorrow. Maybe a short swim on Friday if you are bored. You want to be well rested for your race but not sluggish either! I know you will do great in your race and can't wait to hear about it! I agree with Erica. I think I rested a little too much before my tri last year. |

Stacie good luck on your tri. I dont do any thing on the day before a race except maybe a very short swim to "test" the water. Drink lots of fluids, make sure you are well hydrated and try to get a good nites sleep. I hit the 400 mile mark today. I have NO doubt I will make my goal for the month. I would love to exceed it!!!! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: X-Men ebshot - 2009-04-22 9:10 AM In other crazy news, a drunk driver plowed into my parents house in the middle of the night last night. I was watching the news this morning and heard the news dude say my parents town (super small town that NEVER makes the news) and looked up. I was watching and said, HEY, that is my parents house!! Eek! They are okay (as is the idiot driver) but the scary thing is that the room the driver hit was my parents bedroom just a few weeks ago. My mom swapped furniture and it's now a family room. Thank the Lord that she did that or else it might have been a different story. The foundation is all messed up and they are staying in a hotel. I still haven't talked to them (got some info from my sister) so I am not sure what the plan is for today. How crazy! ERICA. HOLY MOLY THATS SUPER CRAZY SCARY. so thankful that your mom moved their bedroom (how ironic huh??) glad to hear everyones Ok. hope they wont be displaced for too long. THANKS EVERYONE for the taper week suggestions. im having the hardest time getting motivated to do this itty bitty run today. its raining so i cant go outside, and honestly it would take me longer to drive to the Y and back than it would take me to do the run itself.... but. 20 mins it is. i think ill go up after my dh gets home from work.... had the coolest thing done to my foot today - COLD LASER - theyre trying to get the inflammation down in my foot. we shall see, but so far so good. the last couple of days ive had to take ibuprofen round the clock, but since having the laser procedure done (this am) i havent had to take the next dose. seems to be working.... and i got adjusted today too (anyone else go to a chirpractor??) at first the Dr thought my one leg was anatomically shorter than my other leg (a real problem....) but after he adjusted me, my legs were even (a much 'smaller' problem to solve) so at least my legs are the same length and i responded quickly to the adjustment. it will be interesting to see how the Tx plan affects my trng, im hoping for the better. (or what would be the point right????) stacieb |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: X-Men Thanks for all the well wishes for my parents. They are back in there house with the electricity restored. They can stay in the house but there is quite a bit of damage done. Their insurance adjuster has already been out to the house to assess the damage and make a battle plan. It looks like they are gonna have to tear down the outer two walls (at the very least) as well as replace the ceiling. Gonna be a long process. |

They made it and I got the appointment rescheduled. Still annoyed though. |

Yeah, fortunately the day did improve. Bryan came home at lunch and unlocked the car for me. I got Liam to school and then rode in that crazy wind for 1h 15m. Then took Cole to his eval appointment. Not a total loss! The wind was insane today! I am soooo glad I got out and rode though. Even with the wild wind, I am seeing improvements! |
