mbasta - 2010-11-08 8:08 PM Good morning Crushers!

I finally finished my scarf! Not without excitement though... I was watching a you tube video on how to cast off and the way it was demonstrated caused me to do the final stitch wrong - which means no knot and scarf starts to unravel! I'm so happy this thing is finally done.

Oh, and yesterday was Coke free!

Congrats ... and congrats!!!

Hey Crushers!!

Last night was not a good night sleep wise for me.  Just laid there for hours not being able to sleep.  I think I may have slept about an hour total last night which mean today I'm exhausted and had no energy to go swim this morning.  Hoping to get a bike session and some strength stuff in after class today but we'll see how tired I am.

Good morning folks! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I got in some good run workouts this weekend. Went out Friday night for a short run and decided to make it my long run since I had plenty of time that night and not much on Saturday. It sure felt good. Saturday I did a hill workout while I was waiting to get new tires on my car. I'm excited for my workout tonight because it should finally be cool enough that I will should get some points in the Crappy winter weather challenge.

So, my test is done and I had a whole afternoon of catching up on my goals for you Crushers!  I biked 10 miles, ran 2, did some ST and attempted to jump rope.  I think I need lessons...  Embarassed  But my numbers are looking much better!

Now I have to run off to pick up the kiddos and maybe a new washing machine.  Hopefully a haircut first...

I totally forgot you had that today. How do you think you did? I'm sure you aced it.

eh, it wasn't quite as good as I had hoped.  But I'm just happy that results don't come back till Jan and I can enjoy "normal" life, kids birthdays, and the holidays for a couple months!

Waiting for the results would drive me more crazy than getting ready for the test. At least for the first couple of weeks until I could finally put it out of my mind. I'm sure you did fine.

1stTimeTri - 2010-11-05 7:56 PM Oh!  Wifey said tonight while we are out for dinner that she WANTS TO RUN A MILE WITH ME tomorrow morning!!!  It floored me!  This'll be her first time she'll do a serious exercise thing, especially with me!  WOOT!  I'M ECSTATIC!!

I wish I could get my wife to go running with me. I would feel less guilty about it if she did. She is starting to talk about exercising though so there is hope.

mbasta - 2010-11-06 10:13 AM 10km run complete! Foot was okay until run was over and I felt it a little bit - but I don't think it's anything to worry about. The blisters however are back with a vengence.

Blisters aren't good. What kind of socks are you using? Sometimes ti wrong socks can really cause problems.
I'll tell you something else that;s not good. You keep going like this and I swear your post count is going to catch up with me by the end of the month. I remember last month when you hit 300.

Managed 45 minutes on the bike!!  I have determined there is an alomst imperceptible line between fatigue in the leg and where pain starts.  It's really hard to tell so I definitely call it quits at fatigue and let it rest.

So glad things are getting better. You'll be back running in no time. (Just remember "no time" is Nov 15. Wink )

Emmanem - 2010-11-06 8:46 PM Just got in from my first run with Nike+.  Calibrated it but it was only about .1 mile off which isn't bad.  So now if I did everything right my next run should be accurate.  My run this morning could almost count towards the crappy winter weather challenge...37 degrees out!!

Dang. Great job. Now I'm really glad I'm not doing Beach to Battleship--no way I could deal with that kind of cold.

I dunno, though, the waiting and the first few miles of the Reno marathon were hovering right above freezing, and I didn't die.

It's 44 here this morning, so it'd probably be a bit warmer for Beach to Battleship.
Plus it's supposed to warm up next week. Yep, according to weather.com, next weekend will be around 50F in the AM, with a high around 72F. That's not bad, especially for November!

That depends on whether or not you are trying to get some points for the Crappy Winter Weather challenge.

I just threw a temper tantrum about the mosquitoes.

I really lost it.

I was slamming the walls anywhere a mosquito was near.

I went crazy with the RAID can.

I just can't believe I'm still getting eaten with three coats of 100% DEET on every inch of my skin, whether under clothing or not. I think my face is going to peel off.

And still my skin feels like it's also on fire (and I've got half-golf-ball sized bruised, swollen, ITCHY lumps) from the bites.

I know... do you think it could be diabetes? Or could it stand alone without diabetes?
Your 3 !'s and you being a nurse, I will talk to my doctor on my next visit.

Hypoglyceia can stand alone.
Usually the presenting signs for diabetes are the *polys* - dipsia (thirsty), - uria (pee like a race horse all the time ,  and  -phagia (eat everything not nailed down) but still losing weight cause the food isn't metabolised right and it's going right through you.

Well, that rules out diabetes for me. I may be thirsty all the time, pee like a race horse, and eat everything in sight, but I am definitely not losing weight.

I was feeling pretty good about my 7 mile run until I read some of these other long run posts. I guess I still have a few more miles to go before I really get to a long run.

Was feeling a little hungry so went for a walk across the street to get something. Raining like crazy. First time I've worn these shoes in the rain and it will be the last. Didn't even make it half way before my toes were wet. I took my shoes off under my desk so my feet could dry out and I'm leaving half footprints everywhere. Now after I've eaten I remember I have some fruit in my lunch for snacks today. Silly me.

Don't you hate it when that happens?  I do stuff like that all the time.  Nothing beats my horseback riding instructor though.  She had a pair of glasses on top of her head another around her neck and was running around trying to find her glasses.  Another time she was leading a horse around all the barns looking for his halter which was on the horse's head.
