Picked up the new bike a little later than I thought, but here it is. I'm going to change tires. Get rid of the red and go with all black. Also, I am adding a Quarq whenever it comes in. Hoping the weather forecast changes to get a ride in this weekend.

From Drop Box

I love HED but I would pull off the stickers and put on Michelin Pro Race 3 to complete the Stealth look. Electronic shifting is in my radar. Make sure you give us a review.

That is exactly what I am doing. I'm taking the decals off right now. It's more work than I thought. I'll put up the finished picture when it's all done.

Sweet ride!

Just back from my long run of the week. 18.62K in 1:51. was supposed to be 16K, but got lost on the roads so ended up doing more.

Great day for a run, with the sun shining, just about 0c and dry conditions.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend of training.

Anyone use an Adamo saddle?  It was awesome while I was riding yesterday, but I couldn't even sit on the saddle today.  I know it will take time to get used to it, but was wondering how long?

1st off, that bike is seriously badazz. y'all have me envious! as to the saddle, thats what i use. i think thats a fit issue more than a saddle issue Ashley. I'd either go back sooner than later and adjust accordingly.

Great work Rich! I think Scotty has some blood lactate testing tales for us. Jordan can tell you about my bonk on Friday.

I had a RD blow out on me today causing me to crash and scape up my cockpit and ruined a ride 4 mi into a 50. BOO! Then to the bike shop where they tried to sell me the new shiv s-works module for 5k haha. luckily i got out of there quick and hopefully have the bike back by wed.

Streak is at 5 days straight swimming. Heading over there for 6 in the am. Shanks holding me back on running. Waiting for some more check ins!

Ashley, that saddle does take a little getting used to if you have never ridden on one before. It will make your sit bones sore. It took me a lot of minor tweaking to finally get it in a place that I liked.

Yeah, I had my first blood lactate test done on Saturday. It's not that bad up until the last 3 or 4 minutes or so, then you really have to put yourself in some pain. I should get the results sometime today.

Tough past week of training, weather was great here to be outside, but I stayed with the swim only workouts.  My arms have been heavy, but my times have consistently been dropping and Im still pretty strong at the end of the workouts, so thats a positive.  Im going to stay primarily with the swimming again this week, with some easy spinning on the trainer.  If all feels well, Ill give the knee a shot and run on Saturday.

Great bike pictures.  Makes me want to spend money.

I love my Adamo. From the first time I sat on it until now there have been no issues. Before I would get numbness and pain and was afraid I would never be able to ride over 30 miles.

At my last HIM it looked like over 50% of the male pro bikes had Adamo. For the women it was much less. For women and smaller men I think the nose is just a little wide. I have a friend who is on the smaller size who was struggling with getting comfortable on the seat. He finally used a zip tie to hold the nose together slightly and the seat became comfortable. Either he broke in or the seat broke in but he no longer uses the zip tie.

My wife could never get comfortable on the Adamo. She is pretty small and impatient. I tried to get her to try the zip tie trick but she refused. She switched to a different saddle.

Nice bike.

I think the Adamo will be great as soon as I get used to it.  It was great when I was riding, but the very little padding will take some time to get used to.  I'm really excited about it.  Makes it much more comfortable to be aero.

It's been a little quiet lately. I for one have been taking a few easy days. Something has been going around the office, I am haven't been feeling all that great. Very tired with no energy. I am trying my best not to get sick which also means taking it a little easy as far as workouts go.

I hate getting sick...

Also, my BLT results came back. Short Version:

T1: 160 watts @ 127 BPM
T2: 240 watts @  160 BPM
Max: 300 watts @ 180 BPM

smart man to take it easy when you dont feel well. I am sure your coach is ready to dole out some pain now that you have your baseline T1 data. That is the single most important data point(s) for a long course triathlete as the printout probably tells you. That means, like me, you will be training your bike around T1 (160 watts /HR 127) alot.

I made it back to the pool for the 7th day straight and got a 13.2 "LR" in. The focus for me turns to 26.2 or April HIM without Peter in Charleston. Jordan, are you in? What you all doing?

Definitely better to ease up if not feeling too good.

I did a 1500M swim, some abs and then 8K, with 6*450hill repeats this morning. Feeling good.

A 6K tempo run on tap for tonight too.

You okay from the crash, Slayer?  Sorry about your bike...and falling in front of roadies.  Big time bummer.

I ran a 5 miler today.  Felt okay.  Tough route.  Definitely feeling all the hills at the end.  Managed to get the run in before the monsoon started.  Here's the plan for the rest of the week:

Wed: going for a triple.

Thursday: trainer, run

Friday: give me another triple!

Saturday: long ride, shooting for around 70 miles, 30 min t run afterward

Sunday: long run, maybe around 10 miles

Really need to get some quality weektime riding in, hopefully now that the days are getting longer I can squeeze a couple in before work.  I'm worthless on the trainer.

holy smokes! you and RIch are big dawgs! I need to get on the ball.

what is up with you people? if not for the crotch rot and ruined RD, I'd be riding the trainer as much as possible. i love being indoors near a loo, with a killer tv/stereo hookup.

yeah, im fine. more upset with the 550$ to replace the RD on the di2 when I was hoping to bust out a 2012 specialized shiv s-works module on y'all.

Solid week Nerdjock!

Yeah, that crash sounded rough. Hope your bike didn't sustain too much damage.

I've been feeling somewhat sick myself.  I actually took Superbowl Sunday off and just laid on the couch all day.  It was nice. Hope to get back in the swing of things for the rest of the week though.

I'm hanging in there. Feeling better today. I had a day off scheduled for today, but I took yesterday completely off. I'm going to do yesterday's run this evening and see how it goes.

I am not sure if anyone knows, but Craig Alexander has agreed to share some of his workouts on Training Peaks. This is the first one. A long ride 8 weeks out from Kona. Pretty cool to see how a top tier pro is training and I am looking forward to more.
