Big Appa - 2012-08-07 10:29 AM Does anyone have a fav pinot noir? I'm looking to try some new ones.

Have you tried the Lengs and Cooter Shiraz?  Like a pinot but very mellow.

Giggity.

Seriously, David Bruce or any Willamette Valley, OR will do nicely.

Decoy '10 Duckhorn, where is Todd on this?

Only a 88 on the WILFRED WONG scale but for $20 I will give it a try.

On my list to try is:

Sonoma Landing 08'

Donovan Parke '10

Manos Negras 09'

All are rated over 91 on the scale and under $20.

I am not a connoisseur.  I used to joke that I picked wine and beer for my wine and beer snob friends by selecting the one with the oddest name.  It usually worked, in that they liked it.  Lengs and Cooter is real and really good though. Perhaps, the method actually works.

I pick them by the label design. I think it's fun to have funky labeled wines in my wine rack.

I got into really trying new wines just recently so I'm looking for some stuff to try out. I really like the idea of funny names. Nothing like poping a cooter on a friday night.

Wines that rock. Great marketing. I've bought them just because of the album cover labels.
