Haha... any sort of challenge...

seeing that I've slacked THE MOST on

1) Swimming, and
2) Core,

they've got my vote, in that order.

(Danke, ifocus!)

yep... I'll be shifting my focus to tri-specific in about 2.5 wks after only focusing on strength, running, and core work. But i'm open.

Ok, I'll admit that I've been reading the blogs but finally decided to join you guys again. My life has taken a big turn over the past 6 months. I was laid off from my job after 3 years and have decided to be at home with my kids for a while. My severance was a good one and has afforded me time...something I needed. Since I've been home, I'm not planning on returning to a job full time. I've realized how important it is to be here for my boys; now 6 and 12 years old. Pre-teen years are really starting to scare me.

Anyway, I am still training and have run a few 5k's this season. I'm getting ready for my first tri of the year in 2 weeks and feel good. The Rookie Tri is a sprint and an easy course so this is a good one to kick off the season. Although I'm home now, I'm still as busy as ever but I'm training 5 days a week; 2 days in the pool, 2 days on the bike and running all 5 days.

I just celebrated my 37th birthday and my husband sprung for all new race gear! I broke in my new shoes at the Texas Round Up run this weekend...the coolest part is that my son ran his first 5k with me. I think he's hooked and now wants to train for his first tri. I can't think of a better sport for him to get excited about. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a great season and I'm ready to go.

We're missing a few folks from last tri-season but good to see that others have joined. I'll start logging my training.

oh! oh oh! I'm so a fan of something that's avail for free... assuming you have cable... on the Oh! network.... Steve Ross has a show cld Inhale.. I dig it... he's like a 70's yogi for the new millenium. and they bounce to cool music during their poses. it comes on every weekday at 6am.

Gah! It's tough for me to start incorporating it into my workouts-- mostly, I forget until I have post-workout dinner in my mouth. :/ I'm trying!

Question-- How much water do you drink per day?

Working on core starting today. I swam 800 meters yesterday and my arms are soar. Gotta do some upper body strength work. One week until my first tri of the season and I'm getting anxious.

I usually go through at least 1L (I carry around my Nalgene) and I'm starting to drink more now that it's hot out... and I'm still biking to campus. I'm proud about that.

I've been good about running/biking, but bad on core. BAD BAD BAD. I'm going running right now and I'M DOING PUSH UPS AND SIT UPS WHEN I FINISH!!!
